Strength:
This set of speakers is nothing short of phenomenal. Highs, mids, lows (in particular when used together with a Beolab 2 (which the sets were actually designed to be used with)) are nothing short of outstanding. In order to get the same sound quality today, one would have to stretch to Beolab 50's - so if you have the chance to pick up a pair of Beolab 1's (ideally together with a Beolab 2) at a decent price, go for it. You will not regret it, despite their size and heft. Weakness:
The only downside is, I would say, their size (1.86m tall) which can make them appear a bit large in a smaller room. However, the polished aluminium does a lot to "hide" them by reflecting the surrounding environment. Price Paid: $1000
Purchased: Used
Model Year: 2003

So, I have read so many reviews on the site that I felt I needed to share the experience I came into. What I thought was a misprint in a Craigslist ad ended up being the best buy I could ever come across! Listed was a pair of Beolab 1 speakers and a Beosound 3000 system together for an unbelievable price of only $100! I jumped on the ad to ask if $100 was truly the price and if they were still available and the answer to both questions was "YES"!! Well after researching these and finding out they cost $5100 when new, and $1700 for the receiver, new, I could get to an ATM fast enough and drive fast enough so that I would not loose this fantastic deal!
