These speakers are perfect for what i wanted to use them for. I placed them in my sun porch and the double as an out door/patio speaker when I'm entertaining. Even though they are approx 10 years old they still sound great for the money as do my 901's seriesII's do after 25+ years. For all you Bose bashers, just remember, you get what you pay for.

If you are not an ardent BOSE proponent, and you have posted a negative review of a bose product, you may be subjected to the wrath of an individual who goes by the moniker "Mr. Bose". He will come to you in stealth, with a foul tongue and an equally lacking vocabulary totally void of any degree of usefull coherency. This person is evidently either retarted or perhaps a crack adict.

Mr. BOSE: We know your out there, however your cowardice is evident in the fact that you don't give anyone the opportunity to respond to you maniacal ravings. This will not be tolerated. At least When I write a to reviewer I give them a chance to retort. Mr. Bose, it is well that you are devoted to your cause, nevertheless, it is unfortunate that you lack the intelligence to convey your ignorant beliefs. It is advisable that you consult a dictionary which, just in case you weren't aware, is a book which may bestow upon you startling revalations about the mechanics of intelligent expression. I await your response.

I have tried many different speakers of this type and the 2.2's are the best yet! These small bookshef speakers put out an amazing bass output and still have great hi's The speakers have live concert quality and are deffenetly a great bargin compared to other bose of it's type. For example I have a pair of clasic 901's and they dont compare to the stereo quality that my 2.2's put out.

I'm submitting this review to counter the poor review given by "A disturbed citizen." Either disturbed continued to buy every Bose product even after he decided they were crap or he's rating something that he doesn't really own. I'd advise him to stop posting falsified, biased reviews and to break out that dictionary he talked about and learn how to spell retarded and addict.

After 6 years, I finally sold my 2.2s for $75! What a relief. Now I have to decide what will replace them. Mirage, Phase Technology, Cerwin-Vega, or some clearance Optimus LX-5s. The more I have learned over the past 6 years (I now run a sound board for a local church), I am amazed I spent more than $50 on these speakers. Just by looking at the construction you can tell that these are not high quality speakers. Most Bose dealers only have Bose - Why? So it's not easy to do a comparison. I compared some cheap ($89) Cerwin-Vegas to the $299 new Bose. The paper cones on the Bose could not compare to the Cerwin-Vega (which is not a high-end speaker - by any means).
Good luck to whoever bought my Bose. I will enjoy using the $75 towards a new set of GOOD speakers.

These are nice little speakers. They sound great for their size. The range of sound isn't the same as some other speakers I own, but they aren't designed for the same use.
Overall they are very good speakers.

Those who complain about Bose products either don't know how to setup and use them or con't understand the basics of sound technology.
