I got them for free.

I don't know how "the bose name" is a strength. No midrange, harsh high, muddy low.

The room they are in is about 15' x 17'. These speakers have trouble richly filling it. Bass reproduction seems "fake". High is very harsh. What midrange? Anyways, these would make great surround speakers for HT, or for bg music in an office. For accurate listening, spend your money elsewhere.

I dont know but for the average to a little above listener this is a great pair of speakers. they sound very nice and will fil a room from just about anywhere with rich sound from the bass on up. And the price is a very good bargain for these wonderful speakers. These speakers will be adorning my room for years to come.

Lack of just about everything.

When I bought these, the salesman from Crutchfield recommended the Infinity SM85 instead. At the time I gave a lot of credibility to the Bose name. Once they were hooked up I must say I was very dissapointed. I sent them back and got the salesman's recomendation and couldn't be happier. Saved $40.00 too. I will never buy another speaker from Bose again. There are too many better speakers out there for the same price or less.
