Strength:

Ergonomically designed for travel, exceptional sound.

Weakness:

patching the controller in powered boards is a headache.

We use six 802's for our touring Jazz band. Usually stack four for foh + two monitors. Vocal clarity cannot be matched by standard speakers. Indestructable for touring. Only one blown driver in ten years. Sounds better than most theatre systems. Use only with Bose controllers. Flat without.

Similar Products Used:

ev, yamaha. - band is spoiled with the 802's as monitors now.

Strength:

Light, hight output, great sound quality, high power handling, can be used as mains or monitors.

Weakness:

Must use with bose controller.

These speakers are the workhorses of my sound business. I have depended on them for over 2 years, and have never been let down. They have excellent sound quality, volume, ruggedness, and light weight. I have never needed a sub with them.

Strength:

when used with the Bose 1800-V (other series are great too) amplifier they absolutely rock, portability, size, robustness, even in the rain they keep playing able to stack units this delivers way louder and fuller sound than you should expect :)

Weakness:

my bank account, at the moment... but whatever :)

Yessss this is my 2nd review on this list because I have made a change recently by replacing the LEM Procon 750 amp for my 2 802's with a Bose 1800-V Amplifier, and what a difference :> folks use this amplifier and only this amplifier with these speakers in combination with a Bose 802-E active equalizer and a simple mixer and you will be surprised. They are able to wrench a big amount of rich and full, clear through these drivers. Can play way louder without distortion than any other amp I've seen. They tested the 1800 which delivers 500 w/channel at 4 ohm and 300 w/channel at 8 ohm with 2000 watt amps the bose blew the 2kw away which clipped at very high volumes (110+ db)the 1800 didn't clip at all Any other amplifier and you will probably get a wrong image of these speakers. Well done Bose P.S. you should really improve the highs of the acoustimass satellites

Strength:

Decent soundstage.

Weakness:

Everything else.

Garbage - stay away. No depth, terrible balance. Totally lacking substance. Save some money and buy some really nice floorstanders - Tannoy or B&W perhaps. Prefarably European.

Similar Products Used:

Many other Bose products. Trust me, they''re all terrible. No, infact, go and listen yourself. Try an Acoustimass system along side an equivalent pair of European floorstanders. If you''re lucky, the

Strength:

strong loud & clear sound. can fill the white beach of Boracay with only 2 BOSE 802''s.

Weakness:

price

This speaker rock''s, well that is how I decribe this system from Audiblity to mobility I''ve seen Bose 802''s from fort Santiago Manila to white beach at Boracay, I''ve seen them being tortured by rain and sun and the sound still remain loud and clear. at fort Santiago the BOSE 802''s has been fixed at the garden wether it rain''s or shine, so imagine the condition huh? if its not enough how bout the white beach at Boracay well try reaching Willy''s rock you''ll see a pair of 802''s proudly filling the white beach with pumping clear, crisp and loud sound from regae, latin music at sunset till Ibiza techno-trance at night still performing the beast of beat so if you want to be a witness to this come to the Philippines from fort Santiago Manila to Boracay, by the those places are so great they our just two of our famous tourist destination if youve been to boracay well you''ve been to paradise. Imagine drink''s flowing & sound fill the cool sea breeze with crystal clear blue water to smooth powder like sand imagine your self relaxing mixed with BOSE 802''s sound''s and great great seafood''s so come on and experience it..

Strength:

Compact, light and easily fits into my Mazda MPV Minivan.

Weakness:

Bose should sell the speakers edges at an affordable price as part of their continuing service to users like me so that I don''t have to go to Manila, Philippines just to buy those speaker edges which is really cheap in Manila.

I have 3 pairs of Bose 802 and had been using 2 pairs as DJ/owner of ALAD SOUNDS & LIGHTS DJ SERVICES here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I am really satisfied with the size and weight of this speakers excluding their 302''s which need a back-support. I used to have those Peavey SP-2 and because I am getting old and I do not want to hire one person on my gigs, I tried to sold them and replace my system with Bose 802''s and from then, my wife and my daughter where the one''s helping me to set-up. I can easily put one pair in a stand unlike those Peavey SP-2''s. I can also replace the edges that''s why i will use this speakers until I decided to call it quits. I recently bought a used 302 (1 box only) for Can300.00 bur tried to separate the two ten inches speakers and made a smaller subwoofers and it sounded great. Now i set aside the original 302 box which weight a ton and will just return the two ten inches when I have decided to sell it. I wish Bose will build a lighter bass/woofer system as partner to this 802''s.

I'm submitting this review to counter the poor review given by "A distrubed citizen." Either distrubed continued to buy every Bose product even after he decided they were crap or he's rating something that he doesn't really own. I'd advise him to stop posting falsified, biased reviews and to break out that dictionary he's such a fan of and learn how to spell retarded, disturbed, revelation, and addict.

Thanks
Daniel

Don't get me wrong; BOSE does have some good stuff. In the case of their Lifestyle systems they don't particularly shine. For the amount of money you shell out on this systems, you could get speakers that are ten times better, if you have the space and the desire. Now, if you have a small apartment or not that into movies and home theater, this is a good system to get you started. Personally, the sound isn’t that great. A large gap exists between the highs produced by the main channels and the sub. Over all the sound quality are okay and the sound ranges are okay too. You can get a whole lot more for the same price elsewhere.

Strength:

Perfect place to set your barf bag

Weakness:

Every one you can think of

These are the speakers represent the cheapest construction material in the audio industry. If these speakers are so great why doesnt Bose supply the public with some specs on there products. I would not take a pair of these if they were giving them away for free.
