Sounds good for it's size, but anyone can make a speaker that size because it is just a tweeter! You need a Bose Sub and I am not to fond on Bose subs

Strength:

small, compact. Suberb clarity. Sounds like you are actually at a concert !! Superb television sound when linked up

Weakness:

None that i can think of

I read many of the reviews of the Bose AM5 during the back end of 2000 and I was a little put off. I went to my local dealer who gave me a demo, I was blown away immediatley. I've since linked my television, satelitte and video up and I might as well be sat in the cinema. When the sub is positioned correctly (move it around until you find the best place) the bass given off is fantastic. My cd's sound completely different, for a start I hear more instruments than my previous system (Technics - and that wasn't rubbish). I have a Nad C350 amp and a Arcam Alpha SE cd player so I have spent a bit on the setup but still its a fantastic buy. the sound bouncers off the 4 walls and its amazing. Read the reviews yes, but go out and listen and find out for yourself.

Search the Net for "Bose Sucks". I think that sums up everything wrong with Bose. I thank god I didn't make that mistake. My Definitive BP-8's blow the Bose away.
By the way, I had Bose in my Corvette. It pretty much sucked. Alright at first, but the overly processed sound gets to you after awhile.

Best speakers I have ever listened to, great sound and the smallest speakers on the market. Can it be better.? You get what you pay for...

This speaker is just a cheap toy speaker for multimedia computers. For the same amount of money, you can buy a much better pair of speakers. I think BOSE is trying to fool many ordinary listens. Be honest, this kind of argument ought to be ended soon.

If Bose AM5 speakers were priced similarly to a mini compo setup, I would say they are reasonably good value. But having the nerve to have high or even mid end pretensions and pricing it accordingly should justifiably result in universal condemnation of Bose speakers in general. The AM5 sound quality is a classic text book example of what every loudspeaker manufacturer should strive to avoid. The faults of the am5 are so well known that there is no need to elaborate further. All that we can hope for is for the ill informed public to be made aware of the existence of such atrocious speakers in the market and to avoid them at all costs.

Junk, junk, junk! Need I say more? No highs, no mids, no lows. Blurry soundstage, undefined timbres. Junk

I can't believe people don't recognize these as the great speakers they are.Why all the Bose bias? They obviously aren't the best selling speakers in the
world is they are THAT crappy! I love mine.
