Strength:
Small size, easy setup, awesome sound.
Weakness:
A few more rubber "feet" for the speaker cubes would be nice. That's nitpicky, though. Like many other reviewers, I read as many reviews as I could before deciding on these speakers. For $600, you better do your homework! I read all about the lack of bass, poor sound, yada yada. Well, I've owned other Bose products, I love my dad's Bose AC-10's, and these sounded awesome in the demo room, so I went for it. Setup was a breeze, and enough can't be said for the small speaker size. I feel the sound quality is excellent. Crystal clear highs, and MORE than enough bass. And it's resonant, smooth bass...no distortion and it is not overbearing. The speaker system just seems "balanced". Wathched "Gladiator" and "Heat" in Dolby Digital. Whew...awesome sound, to say the least. Nothing like the sound of shattering glass in your left ear, coming from the satellites. It truly is a theater in your living room, and I only have a 27" TV. One thing I'd suggest...listen to the AC-6's if you are considering the AC-10's. I didn't hear much of a difference between, and I didn't feel the AC-10's were worth an extra $300. Go with the AC-15's if you want the powered Acoustimass module and have to shake the walls off a LARGE room. I have a standard living room (12x24) and these speakers more than fill the room with sound. As a receiver, I have a Pioneer VSX-D509, which drives the speakers just fine. The speakers will take 100w per channel, so I didn't want to short change them. I'm not sure how these speakers would do with a cheap receiver, and I would have to question why you would hook them up to one if you paid this much for the speakers. Anyhow, I'd have NO reservations recommending these to anyone looking for great sound in a small package. The only reason I give 4 stars for value, is that if you want to mount the speakers to a wall, the Bose brackets are expensive (about $25 a pop). I don't use them (I have floor stands), so it didn't matter to me. But for $600, they should be included. It all comes down to what your ears tell you, and mine just love these speakers.
