Great imaging, solid midrange, crystal clear highs

These are great speakers. They have a very full sound to them along with nice clear highs that I was unable to find it's $350 price range. They image better than alot of speakers twice their price. Along with a sub (I use a BA PV-600) and a decent set of metal stands they can sound as good as any speaker under $1,500. Good Job Boston!!! Five stars!

PS They do take about two to three weeks to break in. When I first got them they sounded too harsh but then they settled in and now sound excellent.

Clean, bright high end. Nice imaging

Bass is a little weak.

I listened to Paradigm's Monitor 3s and the CR-8s and preferred the sound of the Bostons. The highs on the CR-8s were clean, crisp and clear, just how I like it, and although the bass was weaker than the Monitor 3s it was still very tight sounding. I ended up getting a Boston sub as well so a lack of bass is no longer an issue. The CR-8s are great for both movies and music and are extremely well made. For $400 CDN I couldn't go wrong. Definitely check them out.

imaging, value for the price

little weak on bass but just barely.

Upgraded from CR7's to get more sound as I moved to a larger room. I use these as my fronts for my HT setup with Sony 30ES receiver. I have these combined with a BA VR10 center channel and BA micro surround speakers and a BA CR400 sub.

This setup gives me great HT sound and pretty good music also. I run these speakers on the "large" receiver setup and they handle it fine. For music, at first they seemed a little bright but after a month of use they moderated. You don't get booming bass out of these but nice rounded bass. Most of the music I listen to is classical and jazz.
