Hard to make it best, but you can add another Sub-Woofer to fixed the problem.

Look like easy to install but hard to set it best... I used it about 3 month with lack deep bass, I dislike it... After analyze the problem, I've put another Sub-Woofer in this system... It's complete, no weak point (accept someone want DTS)... I'm very pround in my system until now (2 years)

There are two models, same box- One has an optical port, the other only has a coaxial. The latter was designed for PCs and is being sold on auction sites.

For the size and price, this system sounds very good once you adjust it to your room and listening preference. I was able to make the volume abnoxiously loud without distortion. Set up was simple. The supplied brackets work very well abd made speaker mounting a snap (included all mounting screws and lag bolts). The only additional cabling that I needed was a fiber optic cable to connect to my DVD player and an extension for one of my fron speakers. At $475, it's tough to beat this setup.

After buying a DVD player I began to search for a Doblby Digital system to take advantage of the 5.1 channels DVD's provide. I wanted something fairly small and was looking at separate recievers, speakers, and 'home theater in a box' solutions when I came across a positive review of the DigitalTheater 6000. A full set of 3-1/2 inch speakers with a 6-1/2 inch powered subwoofer and full dolby digital decoding all for just $599. I figured I would check it out at my local retailer and when they gave a demo I was immediately impressed. These little speakers cranked out some hefty sound! I bought a unit, set it up at home (the setup was painless, BTW) and popped in "Air Force One". Everything immediately worked like a charm and I was surrounded by 5.1 channels of gunfire, jet flybys and explosions.Granted, this system does not rock the house down and you may not be able to feel the bass ripping through your chest or have the neighbors yelling at you to quiet down, but you will have trouble getting your friends to leave. For those who want to take full advantage of the sound DVD's have to offer without spending thousands for a expensive home theater you can not go wrong with the DigitalTheater 6000.

This is a very impressive system, considering both the size and cost. I highly recommend it for those who want Dolby Digital 5.1 surroung without having to take out a second mortgage.

I came accross these while looking for a low-cost Dolby Digital system (speakers and receiver). They were exactly what I wanted -- good sounding, compact (the amp and decoder are contained in the sub), and easy to set up. For movies, they're absolutely wonderful (although the sounds coming from the rear are a bit too easy to pinpoint). For music, they're okay, but could be better. I'm actually running these off my computer, which I use for playing DVDs, CDs, and games (they sound amazing in 3D games, too). It's possible that they would sound noticeably better if I ran a component CD player into them, but I think the real problems are a slight hole in the upper-bass and slightly lacking treble. For the price they are very good, especially if you only want to use them for movies. Given their low cost, I'd rate them a 5 for movies, and a 3.5 or 4 for music.

Simple set up, good value, small size.

Weak subwoofer, low power.

Due to a problem with my dvd-rom only dolby pro-logic was used for this system. Nevertheless, sound quality was not unpleasant, depending on the quality of the dvd. The real problem was the subwoofer. I have a Boston subwoofer from their MicroMedia pc speaker set and even that appeared to have more power then the Digital Theater sub, even though the MicroMedia sub is smaller.

In conclusion, Digital Theater 6000 is a great start up system for the beginning, financially impoverished enthusiast, such as myself. If you can afford a few hundred more then the DT 7000 is superior system to the 6000. Good luck and happy hunting.
