Strength:

Built quality, looks,clarity,tonal balance

Weakness:

don't come with matching speaker stands, otherwise none

These speakers are the most 'deceptive'products I have ever seen.Despite their satellite appearance, these can easily blast away most upper end speakers in a higher category.Take the 64 htz. lowest frequency range.Quite a few subwoofers would even fall short of 10K's parameters.BA recommends their usage as the centre channel as well as sorrounds. My initial discomfort with this idea was allayed within my first demo. of these speakers. The sound is crisp ,clean, tight and beautifully balanced.I have the BA PV 600 Sub, which synchronizes with them nicely.Cables do make a difference and I would highly recommend eveybody to invest a bit on them esp. with such special speakers. All in all a great buy!

solid construction, styling, sound quality

initial sticker shock

I saw a review on this set in Sound&Vision while suffering with the Bose gear (never again will I buy hype). I paid $1950 for them with a PV800 sub. They are, in a word, teriffic. Amazing sonic detail and clarity. The soundfield is wide and deep, providing a very convincing home theater experience. The speakers are also available individually as the Micro Reference 100x, so your system can expand with new digital formats such as Dolby EX 6.1. The cost is resonable when you consider the placement flexibilty the 10K gives you (good-looking wall mount brackets are included, and the speakers are tapped for commercial ceiling mounts or floor stands with brackets). You could pay much more for speakers and get far less.

Strength:

Awesome flat response, solid aluminum case, small size, mounting brackets, value for the $$$, Matching WHITE Sub (PV-800)

Weakness:

Initial sticker shock

Awesome. Simply awesome. With the PV-800, virtually flat response ~24->20K Hz. Coupled with my new Sony DA777ES, no one can believe the sound from these small speakers & sub. Crystal-clear Digital DTS/DD 5.1, amazing clarity on CD audio. Simply an incredible HT setup.

Researched and test-listened other systems, but none could really compare (definately won't buy BLOWS stuff again). The tweeter in this unit is supposedly the same as the higher-end BA speakers - sound is VERY nice.

Installation demands in my family room resulted in some compromise over location, but the sound feild of these speakers is broad enough, both horiz. AND vertical, that you don't really notice (thanks also to the flexibility of the 777ES to compensate for less-than-ideal speaker location).

Plus, I got them in white, along with the PV-800 in white (to match the room decor--gotta keep the wife happy, too). Everyone who visits seems to think that Subs have to be black, so they don't notice the white box in the corner.

Bottom line - test-spin these before you decide - with a decent receiver, you will be impressed.
