-Amazing sound in general, Insane sound for their price and size. -Lots and lots of full, deep bass...9 watts never sounded so loud. -Extremely small, sub can be placed anywhere and the satallites couldnt be smaller. -Long wires, they are attached to the speakers though, but why would you ever need to put them farter apart then what it comes with?

For their price, NONE AT ALL! --If you want to compare them to something like a Megaworks, ($200 more...) the PCworks cannot play as loud. The Megaworks will make you want to throw up and make your ears bleed though it gets so loud. As long as your not trying to fill a house, PCworks is amazing!

All I have to say is, for the size and cost of these speakers, WOW! I didn't know 21 watts could get you so far. I own a Megaworks 210D as well, and the PCworks really sounds almost as good, it just cant play as loud at all. But thats comparing a 270 watt system to a 21 watt one. If your looking for computer speakers, or even small speakers for a stereo, PCworks is amazing. I love comparing them to my brothes stereos..a Sony and a Magnavox. They sound fine..untill you listen to the PCworks... If you're trying to decide between PCworks and other speakers for the same price, BUY PCWORKS! If any audiophile says they are not good speakers, tell him/her so stop comparing them to $300 speakers...which the PCworks can come verl close to sometimes. These speakers never stop to amaze me! I wish the rating scale went past 5, I'd give these speakers a 10 in a heartbeat!

Once in a while, a real gem shows up on the market - often very unassuming to the point that you might pass over them. That would definitely be a mistake with these very compact speakers, as they must be one of the best values in a PC speaker on the market! Bass is robust, treble is crisp, and ultimate volume output is surprisingly loud. In fact I moved my pair from PC duty to RP HDTV duty (using the internal speaker system for center channel duty) and hid the little satellites of the PC Works behind drapes. Nobody is the wiser! Clearly a nice little system for many applications. Give them a try!

I really think these are a very good deal since I bought the speakers for $60 with a $10 rebate. They sound excellent, even loud, but when you turn them up really loud (without the sub turned on) the sattelite speakers produce a little static, but I never turn them up that loud anyway so who cares? The sub woofer gets rich bass.

A little static at very high volumes.

A very nice set up speakers. I don't know what some of you people are talking about. The placment is critical with this sub. You have to put it on the floor and have the sattelites rased. Then you get awesome bass. I have a freind that has a sub woofer 3 times as large as this, yet, this gets equal to more bass then his speakers.

I recommend you buy these speakers, not just for thier good price, but for the wonderful sound they get.

Great value in a quality PC speaker system. The high-end speakers are small, handsome, and solid. The bass speaker is well-made and easily conceiled. The bass in limitless and generates substantial bass and rougly 15% of the volume capability. Can really bring out the bass in even poor-sampled mp3 files. They typically stun the visitor who wonder's where that sound is coming from.

My only gripe is the cheap nature of the speaker wire which generates local radio signal feedback that I can sometimes here at night to the point I have to turn it off to sleep. I've since replaced the wire myself and continue to enjoy their sound.

i must say that i was highly satisfied with a speaker similar similar to this one (fps 1000... just the pcworks x2), and i was quite satisfied with it, although the dtt 2500 5.1 is significantly better... but fps 1000 is quite acceptable... shoot for the best, fps 1000, or dtt 2500... don't settle for a 2 channel system, four speakers are rich and engrossing and immersive...

These were my second computer system speakers (upgraded from my 2.5watt KOSS speakers, the 1$ ones), the FPS1000 (the 4 speaker 1 sub pcworks system), bought for 75$ at Hifi.com. I must say, they sounded pretty nice for their price... At first, I was dissapointed because when I opened the [small] box, I found these tiny speakers and a pathetically little subwoofer. I plugged them in and boy was I in for a surprise, they sounded very good! I do complain that they do get staticy and the subwoofer gets boomy at higher volumes but at softer volumes these speakers are great. I do wish the subwoofer was a bit more powerful and larger, wooden too... For its price it is great though. Sounds better than my father's logitech x2 speakers (though not as powerful) and is better than my friend's Phillips usb speakers. These are the best speakers you can get for the <100$ price range. Of course, my nice new Altec Lansing ADA885's (THX rated) just blow them away...

Size, sound quality, price.

Allthough I've owned these speakers for awhile now I felt that after enjoying them during Christmas dinner and before that now would be a good time for a review. Normally I have these hooked up to my office PC but upon needing music for
Christmas dinner I decided to unhook them and set them up in my dining room. Lets just say that my friends and family were quite impressed by all the sound coming out of such small little cubes. Allthough the sub may not knock your socks off with deep refined bass it does the job quite nicely at low to medium volumes. Putting on some instrumental christmas music with orchestra the speakers held their own pretty well. I also played other types of music and was quite pleased. All in all these are great speakers for your PC or for that matter a small room. I think hifi.com has them for $39.00. So if your looking a nice little speaker system at a budget price then look no further.

Cheap speakers that my PC came with.

I've had these little speakers for over a year and am still amazed by how good they sound for the price. Are they perfect definitely not but they are certainly extremely enjoyable. I also own B&W 601S2s, Linn Kans, Def Tech BP20 and Martin Logan Aerius i. The Aerius is my main music speaker and are the pcworks as good? Of course not but they cost less then the sales tax on my Martin Logans and they do provide quite enjoyable sound while sitting at the computer. Right now I'm listening to some wonderful klezmer on these little gems and it fills the time more then adequately when I can't listen to my MLs. I consider these an unbelievable value.

Great sound/small size.

I've been using these speakers for almost two years now and I'm very pleased with their performance. Their small size is a big plus when you don't have a lot of space to spare on your computer desk. My computer has a DVD drive on it so I occasionally watch movies using these speakers as well as listening to music CD's from time to time. For the price, these speakers are great!

Price/performance ratio; impressive resolution in upper mid and high

Almost no lower midrange

Mr. Wit - get real. You cannot compare PCworks (US$39.00) to even the lowest-priced of the models you mention (NHT SuperZero are about US$300/pair, *plus* they require a high quality amp to really perform, kicking it up to at least US$600).

If you are expecting to be able to favorably compare these speakers to systems costing *an order of magnitude* more, you are living on another planet.

I have a set of these in my home office, another set at work, and have recommended to various friends. For smaller rooms and moderate volume levels, *and with careful placement and adjustment of bass unit*, these are a STEAL. Yes, the MicroWorks is a lot better (great midrange compared to these), but it costs three times as much. I defy anyone to find a $40.00 set of speakers that sounds anywhere near these. I am giving a bunch more as gifts this year to my friends in dorm rooms or on a budget.

(FWIW, my reference system is Hales Revelation 2 speakers with a Bryston amp, and my bedroom system is CSW New Ensemble III with a Harman/Kardon receiver, so I have at least some experience shopping at a wide range of price points.)
