This is a review of the Canton Reference 7.2 DC.

The 7.2 DC is a true reference speaker. Its ability to flesh out tiny details across the whole frequency spectrum is nothing short of amazing. Imaging is terrific, too. The integration of the drivers is flawless. Singer's voices are natural and lifelike.

I use them with two subwoofers and a digital crossover at 60 Hz. The speakers alone will go low, but the lowest octave does not have much volume.

The sound of these speakers is spacious and neutral without being too dull or too laid-back.

I was a little weary of the aluminium membranes because poorly designed aluminium drivers can be prone to 'ringing' (resonances of the aluminium), but there is not a hint of ringing in these very well engineered drivers. Not a hint! They sound as resonance-free as paper membranes but with the added benefit of much better resolution.

The tweeter is a story in itself. It is one of the best I have ever heard. Amazing resolution and a spot-on volume level without ever becoming aggressive.

I highly recommend this speaker to anyone searching for a well balanced, neutral, spacious, and detailed sound with very good imaging. I also recommend adding a subwoofer if the lowest octave needs to have sufficient sound pressure.
