Strength:
Smooth, Good all arounder, Build Quality
Weakness:
None This review is for the Celestion DL 8 Series 2. This speaker employs an 8 " polyolefine woofer and a 1" Titanium dome tweeter. The freq. resp.-50Hz-20khz. Sens.-89 db. Power Handling- 150 watts. Impedance-8ohms. I was essentially at wits end looking for a good all arounder that could be employed on a bookshelf. I live in a small apartment in NYC and i can't have stands. I found these for a song and what a deal. Fine all rounders(good on all types of music)-smooth treble ,exc.vocals,exc. mid range and tune ful Bass. I auditioned many high Quality speakers and these out performed them- especially for the money. Very fine build quality- the cabinet employs a figure of 8 brace internally to diffuse vibration and coloration. This particular Celestion has the highest power handling capability of any bookshelf that Celestion ever built. I am very happy. System- Marantz 2385-Black Faced, Pioneer Elite-PD-65 CD, Pioneer CT-W606-Cassette Deck, Mark Stager Silver interconnects, Monster Cable Line Conditioner Celestion DL 8 Series 2 Similar Products Used: B&W CDM 1 NT, Sonus Faber, Kef RDM 2, EV Sentry 100 A, etc. |

The CS-8 is a rather tall floorstander, with reflex ports both on the front and the back. |
