Duh! People. This is a speaker whose audio range bottoms out at 38 Hz. Dont you expect it to be high on bass? The whole point of getting a full range speaker is to eliminate the need for a subwoofer (my Sub starts at 40, and my mains now start at 38)! Just got these in today, Sears had them on sale for $99 apiece. Great for rock/pop, haven't had a chance to watch a DVD movie yet. I was concerned that my Onkyo 474 receiver wasnt driving my previous speakers (also Cerwin-Vega E26F) or subwoofer (Audiosource SW50) well, these speakers confirmed that the receiver was not at fault. I shudder to think what the Aiwa DV-70 (which already has a huge bass response) will do with these speakers. Will report it when I find out. Meanwhile, for $99, I think they are a great deal. 4 stars. |

This speaker sounds great with the right reciever. And even without the right reciever it sounds decent. My reciever makes everything clear. I can make these speaker sound excellant. I can turn my bass to -3 0r all the way down to -5 and then I can listen to jazz or classical have just the right amount of bass and superb highs as the treble I toggle between +3 to +5. No bass trhen drowns the highs out. And for bass heavy music. They are all that. |

Strength:
Bass that shakes the house
Weakness:
Responce not very flat If you like the sound of the clubs, you'll love these. The bass from these 10's is amazing. You can shake the whole house. If you like to play it loud these will soak it up. |

E-310 I have herd these speak in action from my friends and also my brother who own the E-310. I think these speakers are the all around bass performance speaker they sound loud clear and have outstanding deep lows. Good speakers for home theater, if powered right you don't even need a sub for your home theater. They're worth every penny! |

I just bought my first pair of Cerwin Vega E-310's a day ago, and I think the sound quality is excellent. For best control of the speakers, a "loudness" function should be present on your system to allow dropping of deep bass hits on heavy bass music and to bring it up in low bass music without having to adjust your bass control, thus allowing for a more smooth frequency transition over the low-mid end spectrum. I also recommended that you do adhere to the min 6ft speaker distance for best sound quality in these speakers, to close and I was finding bass loss at the speaker corners. |

CV is horrible

These speakers are horrible. They are made for rappers. The bass drowns out the highs and mids and sounds really un natural. It's sounds very muffled. The highs distort with barely any volume. They are pretty loud.. but who cares if they sound like garbage? If your a rapper these are the speakers to get for about 400 a pair but if your an intelligent person you won't even bother listening to these |

Strength:
Nice High and good overall base
Weakness:
none I purchase 2 of these floor standing speakers to hook up with my Kenwood VR-3090, and they sound very nice. Everyone is impressed with it, and it was money well spent for both at around $230. Would recommend it to anyone, love listening to them all the time!! Have fun with them! Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
Incredible features, from digital protection on the tweeters, to switchable levels on the midrange and tweeter, and a great basket/magnet combo on the woofer
Weakness:
If you are using these for Home thetre at all... Hard to get near your TV as the magnetic field has an area of affect of about 4 foot radius. I read through the reviews below, and I'd like to point out a few things. First of all, the signal you send is going to affect the speakers considerably. If you are boosting the bass with the receiver you are going to wreck the signal and get poor bass quality. KLH speakers, from experience and study, are cheap, poorly built speakers. They are not durable and they make up for their poor frequency curve by using a crossover that accentuates the range of highs (cymbal etc) that your ear hears best. They DO NOT have crisp ultra High frequencies invariably. The Vegas have an excellent frequency response curve and incredible definition. Put these things on a good receiver and you will hear every piece of glass hit the floor in a movie. The bass and midrange are also very well designed. Including solid voice ranges and increcibly tight full bass. You may notice a distinct jump in the response curve around the 38-45hz range as the port on the speakers is tuned to that range. This, however can be excellent as it is not out of proportion and helps to fill in low fields of sound that get lost to the ear. The ear becomes increasingly less sensitive to frequencies once you slide under 80hz. These speakers are also very efficient (signal to output ratio, how much power you put in and how much sound pressure is generated). At 8 ohms they will have slightly less volume than some typical 6 ohm standing speakers. However, they are far more efficent than most speakers anywhere near the price range.
