Strength:
Well built and easy to drive.
Weakness:
No grill-cloth (which is not a real big deal) These speakers are great! I am using them with a Consonance M100 plus integrated tube amp and a Granite Audio Stealth CD player. Everything is wired up with Purist Audio cables. Couldn't be happier with the sound. The speakers have pinpoint imaging, a refined midrange and deep powerful bass. Strength:
Great sounstage very efficient 92 db.
Weakness:
none I did not buy this speaker but tried it out and listened to it for amy hours.I bought its big brother the Super conquest. This is a great speaker in the 1500.00US price range.I compared it to the Logan Aerius and it was difficult to pick one over the other.Conquest was better in the Bass not quite as good in the high end but very little difference their.Plays great with a wide variety of music. If you are looking for a speaker that can rock.If you listen to U2 Bealtes Rolling Stones and similar 70/80 rock. Not heavy metal you can spend 300.00 and buy a speaker with a 15" woffer thats all you need to reproduce noise.the speaker will rock and at the sime time if you paly some blues or jazz it will give you what you sometimes have to pay 3000.00 up for.I bought the Super Conquest at 2500.00 US because it was a litle better in the bottom end and slighty more refined in the top.If you have 1500.00 to spend chances are you wont find a better speakerthan the conquest. I've have had these speakers for four years now, and I have enjoyed them. However, I just listened to them alongside some B+W 805 speakers that I had on loan from a stereo shop, and the B+Ws clearly bettered the Conquests in clarity, presence, focus, and detail. There was no aspect in which the B+W was not a definite improvement. |

Strength:
high sensitivity, musicality
Weakness:
no speaker grills I loved the sound of the Triumph signatures but I knew I was missing out on some low frequency response. The midrange, though was so beautiful, so pure! When I read that the Conquests sounded like the Triumphs but with a little deeper bass I kept my eyes open on the used markets for about 3 months before I came across a dealer in NYC selling some demo Conquests for $1200. I offered $1000 and bingo! I owned the Conquests! This is probably the best audio bargain I've ever found (competes with the Cary/AES SE-25 Superamp that I bought for $700 and the 12' Analysis Plus Oval 9s I bought for $280). The Conquests truly do have the glorious sound of the Triumphs with the added bass! These are truly reference quality speakers and their sensitivity allows for the Superamp in 15W/channel triode mode to really make music. They will force you to upgrade EVERYTHING because they reveal everything. I have chosen my components carefully and well and have been rewarded with beautiful music. If you are thinking about these speakers for your system I recommend them highly with no reservations. Similar Products Used: Coincident Triumph Signatures, Sound Dynamics 300Tis, Mission 773e |

Strength:
Very musical and easy to listen to
Weakness:
break in time I bought these for my second system and loved them so much that I bought the Super-Eclipse for my reference system (see my review). The Conquests are easy to drive and very musical. It is the perfect match for a tube integrated amp. I drive mine with a Manley Stingray (nos tubed). While the imaging and soundstage are not up to par as my reference system, the sound is nothing short of musical. Sometimes I play this system for background music, but then it sounds so excellent that I stop doing whatever it is I'm doing to listen. The music seems to breath into the room with these. I'd also recommend buying Coincident's speaker cable. The break in time was something like 150 hours, but worth it. Similar Products Used: thiel, proac |
