Deatil depth of soundstage

A touch shy on the bass.Nothing that a sub could not fix.

This is an amazing little speaker for the money.At 1000.00 US it rates with speakers i have heard in the 2500.00 range.Great mid and high nice bass not great bass.But from a bookshelf this size its very good.I use these in my home stereo and they are way more than one would ever need.Sound is evolving and clear.I have a Marantz SR-880 as my main power and they just hum.

Follow up review.I have used these in a HT set up with a Marantz SR-880 reciever.They have been a great speaker and i have been very happy.I had the chance to move them into My main 2 channel set up Rogue 120 Mono's 66 Preamp.I could not belive how good this speaker sounded in this set up.If you dont have a big room or if a bookshelf speaker is what you need dont overlook this speaker..The soundstage and imaging are = to what you will find in 3k + speakers.I highly recomened this product.Get a hold of Israel Blume at www.coincidentspeaker.com.He will set you up with the right pair for your room.

Impossible to break in, bright, very badly finished.

After reading some positive reviews and seeing an ad in our local Buy & Sell from a dealer across the water in Victoria, I contacted Mr. Blum at Coincident head quarters. I found out that Coincident sells loudspeakers factory direct at a lower price than the dealer, a very ethical situation. This was in very early 1999.
I got a much better deal from the guy in Victoria, however. Isn't competition great?
After receiving the speakers I discovered that the bottoms of the speakers were unfinished, like unpainted particle board,
and that one of the hideously ugly plastic
Triumph stickers had been glued on crooked,
and not just a little bit either. Mr. Blum reassured me, by email, that the then current Triumph Signatures were actually being sold with their bottoms painted and that I could try and remove the plastic name tack with paint thinner, but that it could very well damage the finish.
I had read that these speakers were hard to break in. The day after I received the speakers I went on holidays and left them playing KPLU, my favourite radio staion,
om my secondary solid state system for three weeks, that's 504 hours, after trying them on my tube amp. After returning from holidays I found that the sound of the speakers had virtually not changed. They were still bright, with no bass (and I am not a bass freak). Sound staging was superb
but the sweet spot was so precise you couldn't move your head more than an inch without losing it. I tried all possible
possible speaker setups, my electronics were all Copeland, and still are, with all Wireworld interconnects and speaker cables.
I kept the speakers for another two months
playing them for a few hours a day, they sometimes sounded okay but only with superb recordings. These speakers were built for soundroom conditions and neurotic audiophiles. I could not believe when I sold them to someone that actually listened to them. I will never buy another audio component without auditioning first. No consumer product has annoyed me more than the Coincidence Triumph Signature Loudspeakers.

This is a follow-up review since I've had these speakers now for a few months. My set-up has changed a bit as well. I am now running a Golden Tube Audio SE-40 SE tube amp with a Creek OBH-12 passive pre as well as a second system consisting of an ODL HT-2 (Odyssey Stratos copy)solid state amp with a Classe' CP-35 preamp. I use the Triumph Signatures in both set-ups, listening to the tubes or to solid state depending on what I'm listening to.

The Triumph Signatures, now that they are completely broken in, are incredible. Everyone who hears them remarks on the fact that they don't seem to be making any sound. The music is all there, pinpoint imaging, spacious soundstage, layers of complexity all defined and detailed, but the music seems to come from nowhere. The speakers are like silent statues. I have them set-up so they throw quite a large sweet-spot (on-axis crosses about 1 foot in front of the solitary sweet spot). Perfect for 2 listeners. When there are three listeners I generally sit behind the couch (at my desk) and I am still in the sweet spot.

I cannot praise these speakers enough. They are gorgeous to look at and they ceate a clear window to the recorded event. I am constantly changing and upgrading my system - I never even think about looking at new speakers though. That says it all!

I own the Mini Triumph MK II. Have lived with these speakers for only a short while as they compose part of my travel system while I contract nationally.

I'm only running an NAD L-40 with them and still they are very impressive. Do not miss my Big Dog system of VTL, Reference 3As as this system is quite musical, especially in smaller living spaces I encounter on the road.

Would pick these over any previous monitor I've owned as they've got the voicing right.

Dynamic, articulate, easy to drive.

Limited bass output, but no big deal in an average room.

I've been using these speakers for about a year now. They replaced a pair of aging LS3/5A's and I've never looked back
I have had satisfying listening levels on a 2.5 Watt single ended triode, and now run them on 5 watt SET monoblocs. Dynamic and articulate, with ample low frequency information for the size of my listening room. I do not feel the need for the optional subwoofer. The cherrywood finish is excellent. I have them fairly close to a rear wall, with an open archway between them, so I don't think they are optimally set up for imaging. But they work well in my living room and I've lost the insane drive to tweak their position to the millimeter. Overall excellent value for the money, and a surprising level of engineering.

Excellent value in a real high-end speaker. A little bass-shy compared to the replaced Vandersteen 2Cs, but better midrange and highs. Mated with a Golden Tube SE40 amp, the sound is open, wide and vocals are outstanding. If you can set these up properly, at leaset 2-3 feet from back and side walls, you can get a real sense of the recording venue. They need some good stands, about 24 inches high for optimal placement.

I've been working on upgrading my system for about 2 years now, and these speakers are the pinnacle of my efforts. They are gorgeous to look at, build quality is without peer, sound is incredible - detailed and dynamic. Every nuance of the music is found - these speakers deliver emotion. I do not think that I will have to upgrade these speakers - ever.
I cannot say enough for these speakers. Do a Google search for reviews - the pros are so much more eloquent than I.

I got VERY lucky and bought the demo pair from CES 2001 straight from the factory. Israel Blume was a pleasure to deal with.

I sold my 805's and replaced them with the Triumph.I found i could not pick one over the other.Both are great speakers.I used the money i saved to upgrade my Cd Player.
The sound is detailed rich excellent bass extension for this size speaker.Imaging is glorious.Find a used pair 700/800 they are a steal.

I owned these speakers for one year and had to sell them in order to "child-proof" my living room. (They are stand-mounted and relatively heavy for this type of speaker.) I was sorry to see them go.
The Triumphs are two-way speakers with a true 8 ohm impedance and 90db sensitivity, thus making them very easy for the partnering amplifier to drive (I drove them with a Welborne Labs-modded ST-70). They are accurate without being analytical and smooth while not obscuring detail. The soft-dome tweeter integrates well with the 6.5" woofer and Coincident's claim of 40hz bass extension seemed accurate in my room.

During my time with the Triumphs, I was never dissapointed. As I said, I'm really going to miss them. (I would urge potential buyers, however, to go for the real wood veneer rather than the standard black finish.) What can I say? Great sound, fair price, kind to your amp. Don't overlook them if you are in the market for a stand-mounted two-way.
