Excellent with Jazz/acoustic music and vocals. Realistic sound reproduction with lot of air and space around instruments. Undoubtedly, one of the best speakers you could have for comparatively less price. Good for a mid-size listening room with little space from the back wall. Since this model went out of production some time back, grab one as soon as you could find one in second hand (will be a challenge to find one because no one would sell it). You won't regret.

Plays acustic music very convincing, almost persuassive! Lots of "air" around the music.

It's 6½" bas-system is not enough for Rock;-)

I've had this loudspeakers for about 2 years, and I think it's time to give away some of my experiences. I listen to all sorts of music, mostly Jazz and generally acousic music. Which were the reason for buying these speakers in the first place. I must say that I'm very pleased with their performence with this type of music. You hear "air" (space) around instruments, and it's very easy to place instruments. The details are amazing! When it comes to Rock one might like a little more bass than the Dali Evidence 870 can deliver (in fact I would recomend Dali7A for rock listening). 6½" just aint enough to give the punch which I like about rock music If you buy 'em, try some Eric Clapton. They are made to play that dude;-)!

Highly musical, great midrange

I have been using these loudspeakers for about 3 months. I have hooked them up to my Exposure Super 20 amp and i am indeed very satisfied with the sound. Especially a lovely detailed midrange and a great bass performance. They are highly musical and the focus is on the music rather on the technical part.

full, deep, very detailed sound at low volume. driven easily by relatively cheap nad amp.

boom at what for many might be "normal" listening levels.

not bought, just road-tested at home. mammoth floorstanders that sound absolutely exquisit at low volume, which is how i normally listen. any louder and they start to boom, unless they''re a *long* way from the wall, even in the biggest room.

Rich and delicate sound. Musicality and great midrange.

Actually none, but there are better speakers with more details in the midrange.

I am currently using this speaker together with an Exposure Super 20 amplifier. I used to drive a couple of Dali Grand Coupe speakers until recently! These speakers are really great with lots of atmosphere and musicality. Especially the midrange and bass is great also due to the expensive and special developed drive units by Vifa and Dali. In general, the sound is very clean and enjoyable focusing on the music rather on every detailof the music. The soundstage is open and wide and ensures thereby a feeling of the positioning of the instruments playing in the soundstage. Compared to the Grand Coupe speakers the Evidence 470 does not have all the details of the music within the midrange but lacks the ability of playing allround music in the same style as the Evidence 470. Also the Grand Coupe was better of playing in smaller rooms whereby the Evidence easily has the power play in rooms of 25-30 squaremeters.

Wow... these speakers rocks! I've listened to a few diffrent pairs of B&W that costed 'round 1900$ and these Dali speakers sounded so much better! What really makes these good are the warm and clear sound. God, hear a good Charlie Parker tune and you'll hear how the sax will get both fat and smooth... the B&W sounded very 'metallic' but these Dali... like the women from Denmark, the Dali speakers both looks good and SOUND intelligent/good! :)

Evidence plays Rock, Jazz and Classic. They're not only allround but exellent in everything! Really a pair of speakers for thoese who hears a little of this and a little of that.

Incredible 3D sound and clarity that makes it feel like the group is really playing in your livingroom.

Needs lots of space, atleast 1 meter from the wall otherwise the bass takes over.

I will probably have these speakers for a long time, since they are incredible and just gets better the more i listen to them (if that is possible).

A speaker that not only looks great but also really can play music.This speaker can play really loud wihtout a lot of watts from your amplifier.
It also produces a great deal of bass with great control and articulation.
Those cones are really pumping like crazy without any distortion heard, so dont let those small 6.5 incheers fool you, what they lack in diameter they make up for in strokelenght.
In general I must say that i am very happy whith this set of speakers and will probably stick with them for a wile.

Dynamics, detail and power.

Needs space and power. And in my oppinion a tiny modification of the cables. Well, an exchange of them.

They do need som space to the rear wall, and some power. I use a NAD T770. And I replaced the original internal cabels with Tara Labs Prime 500.
-That really did it.
I fell in love, again.
The 470 has a great deal of power if you place them right, and as said, feed them good.
