Very linear - plays the treble, mid and bass good.

Not broad deep bass.

I must say that these speakers surprised me some. I didn't quite expected them to do play that good, but they really did. I used them with a Nad 350 amplifier connected with Crystal+ speakercable (bi-wired). No matter what music I loaded my CD-player with, the Dali's reproduced it with elegance and power, from bass to treble. The introduction to 'Final Countdown' by Europe, a record which is not the best to listen to if you want to judge how detailed the speakers are but that really tests the speakers ability to play dynamically, sounded better than it probably would do on any speaker for $5-600.
