I have 2 KX-10 for front L&R and KX-CENTER, some
infinitys for rear. The KX-10's sound very good
for the price, no sub needed. The horn is a bit
bright but the midrange sounds great.

Strength:

Very good bass, loud and clear sound.

Weakness:

None

These are great speakers. I use them mainly for home theatre and the bass shakes the place even without a sub. I use a Yamaha RXV-2095 Receiver with The DCM KX-10 Series 2 for the main speakers, Infinity RS1 for the surrounds and Infinity CC-1 center channel speaker.
The volume can be turned up loud on these speakers and they still play very clean. The price is also very good.

I have the KX-10's, KX-6's and a KX-Center in my Home Theater. Although the KX-10's are not as musically clear or accurate as many audiophiles would like, they are still better than a lot of products ouit there in the same price range. These speakers sound overall pretty good (better than my uncle's Bose AM-10) and can create an impressive home theater experience for not too much money. When buying, I compared them to the equivalent speker from Cerwin-Vega and liked these better. My only real complaint now is the size. I would like to sell them for a good sub/satellite system to take less floor space.

Strength:

Volume is this speakers middel name, you want sound that's loud and clear. This is your speaker.

Weakness:

Midrange is not it's middle name, at least not the warm sound of a good midrange. Mid-bass is not there at all.

I have to say my main systems consist's of ADCOM amp and preamp, HK CD changer and a pair of Thiel CS 2.3's. So, Audiophile I am. The DCM KX-10 are part of my home-theater system along with their center and rear speakers. The volume is thunderous yet clean and clear, which is what a hometheater should be to my ears. No serious equipment is being used, average mid-stream equipment. So, for home-theater or if you wanna pump anything from ABBA to Zeppelin good enjoy the fact that you can all this for well under $400.00.

Strength:

Big sound and enough bass to float you out of a room.

Weakness:

Big and clunky. Long throw design makes these speakers image better when you are at least 10-15 feet away.

If you like your bass like a industrial dance club (mean, hard, and like an avalanche) then these are the speakers for you. I found the sound to be tight and powerful but not muddy or distorted. These speakers are best for larger sized rooms. They tended to overpower the 12 foot square room I had them in at anything over normal listening levels. I can only imagine what the bigger 12's sound like. I found the speakers had a very noticable sweet spot about 15 feet away where they were the most clear. They sound much cleaner with speaker stands, unfortunately they look rather top-heavy on them. And make sure you get stout ones too. A pair of mid range speakers and a center channel would help balance them out. A good amp will go a long way towards helping their low volume sound. And you don't need a subwoofer with these guys.

Strength:

Everything...awesome sound, high/low range!! Sweet bass, they really get the walls shaking

Weakness:

Nothing at all

I have had these speakers since August. Ever since then i have been totally satisfied with these. They can pump out a huge amount of sound.
I got them on sale at Circuit City for $120 each. Combined with my JVC RX8000 reciever i am totally impressed, and so are all of my friends!! HIGHLY RECOMEDED!!!!

Strength:

Overall value for the price. Imaging. Midrange. Bass.

Weakness:

Heavy.

I was putting together a system under $1000 for my father and found these speakers as an open box buy at Circuit City. I compared them to several different speakers by Infinity and Polk and found they actually sounded better than Polks twice their price.

In fact, using these speakers with a Technics SA-EX140 receiver ($129!), they actually compare quite favorably with my Sunfire pre-amp and amp and Carver ALIII+ speakers. This came as quite a surprise to me!

Highly recommended for a budget system.

Strength:

Very clean highs nice mid-range sound as well as a deep bass
great for parties as well as for the home theater.

Weakness:

NONE AT ALL

These are the speakers of choice I was looking for a long time for a speaker of this quality and finally founf it in DCM. As well as I got the pair for a great price. If your really serious about quality VS quanity just give DCM a listen it can't hurt and i know you will be surprised and will want a pair for yourself.
