i have heard many speakers.nothing comes close to the bp8bs.the dynamics,smooth laidback treble and open sound blew me away.i cant believe the tight deep bass from such small drivers.any music i listen to sounds great. the best pair of speakers i ever owned. there small and look as good as they sound.im hooked on definitive speakers. now i have to go out and get matching center,suroundssub.you dont need a sub with these.but ill get one for movie soundtracks.just think the bp8s are at the bottom of definitives chain.what a beautiful sounding speaker.thank you definitive.

Open sound, die soundstage, beefy bass

Midrange and highs are just ok.. A bit power hungry!

I use my bp8b with Nad 917 preamp, Nad 916 (in bridge mode) An a Nad 515 cd player.
I am very happy with the speakers, They play very well with my system, but I considering buying a more powerful amp. I think that geting them for only 350$ was quite a bargain. I Have also tried a pair of B&W 604 on this system, they sounded sligthly better, better midrange and clearer highs, but they also costs three times as much ( about 1000 $ in Norway)

Imaging is not as good as forward-radiating speakers

The bass as gotten a lot better. My sub seems useless now.
The imaging is a little off, but only a very little. This is a good speaker. And it's cheap.
