Strength:

Sound, looks, size, wall mountability

Weakness:

Price, center speaker has limited ability to adjust angle

I spent a couple months listening to different similar products. I wanted a speaker system that could balance music with video. Size was a concern as well as price. I literally initiated an on line order from Audioshop (Canada)when I saw the Definitive Technology Pro 100's selected as the speaker system of the year with a large online store. That combined with positive reviews from this site (thank many of you), I decided to investigate more. I was able to find a store where I could hear the Definitive Technologies against the Boston Micro 90's. I had already decided the Energy Take5 were a little better for me than the Bostons. But when I heard the Definitives against the Boston's I was very impressed. I had to wrestle with the additional cost, but am glad I went for the Definitives. They are very well balanced. My only regret is that the reputatible Audioshop stereo store in Canada started dealing in Definitives after I bought mine. I paid a few hundred more than I needed to. In addition, the center channel has a wimpy little "leg" that does not allow for angling the center channel.

Strength:

Unbelievable sound from such small speakers

Weakness:

None

After having looked for quite some time to upgrade my system from Prologic to Dolby Digital and DTS, I had decided on the Sony 555ES receiver and Sony 650 DVD player and wanted to keep the speakers small. At first checked out the Bose Acoustimass 15 system but after reading the reviews here and elsewhere, I was hesitant to spend 1300.00 and not have the sound I thought I should have for that kind of money. Hence, I ran across the Definitive Technology ProCinema 100 system, checked out the reviews which were all outstanding, checked out their web site and located a dealer here in the Orlando area where I could listen to them (Absolute Sound). After hearing them, they blew me away with their clarity and sound and were no comparison to the Bose. I was able to negotiate a great deal on these speakers which came out to be less than the Bose Acoustimass 15 system. I would highly recommend that if anyone is looking at the Bose, get the name out of your mind (because thats what you are buying), and instead check out the Definitive Technology ProCinema 100 system. For the money they can't be beat, and will probably cost less than the Bose and you will have a much better sound!!!!

Strength:

Sound and Build Quality is outstanding, given it's such a small speaker.

Weakness:

Hard to find local dealers

I'm using a variation of the ProCinema 100 Setup (using 80's as rear surrounds) and the sound is great. These little speakers can play very loudly with little on no distortion at all. Most Sub-Sat systems I listened to tended to have something missing in the upper-mid bass area, sorta like a hole where the Sats and Sub did not meet. These speakers blend perfectly with the sub, no audible gap that I can hear. They also seem very well made, and Ive also heard that Def Tech has a good reputation for customer service.

Listened to Energy Encore, Mirage, Klipsch and Polk Sub and Sat Systems when I went shopping.
