price, lack of crisp sound

O.K.So I boand they soundught a pair of theese before I read all of theese reviews and if I ever see that dude again I've got some words for him. I feel ripped if Ebay has them for 100.00

The speakers seemed "heavy" and also they were NOT made of "paper" around the magnet. (I'm such a prude)

I noticed "made in China" after the purchase!

Wow, I was surprised I was not the only one! I was given the "bit" that there were extras and the guy even showed me a catalog and a "dummy" invoice....I can't wait to try them out for fear I may have paid too much for the dumb speakers. Most reviews seem fine. I was also given some "phony" warranty # STFO-5099x23 from a HI-TECH AUDIO company. Let's see!

The stories sound way familiar. It's funny to find out three years later that I was conned. I was at the ATM getting some money for lunch and this white fan pulled up and told me that the boss had shipped an extra set of speakers to the job site where he just completed an installation. If I wanted to get a set of $2000 speakers for $400. He didn't want to take them back to the warehouse. I offered $150 and I ended paying around $250. The odd thing that scared me was that a police car with a cop in it was looking at us the entire time and the sales person had no fear. He kept pushing for the sale and eventually I went to the ATM machine and give him the money. Did the cop know something that I didn't know

great clarity for all types of music they reproduce sound that i have only heard in some concert halls

the only weakness of these speakers is your reciever you might want to buy a seperate sub amplifier

i was alittle unnerved when this white guy in a suburban approched me and ask if i new about home theater speakers . he told me that he was a contractor working on the new speakers in the GM building and he had two sets left over so i gave him the 220 and took them home hooked them up and they sound great . i gave away my sony home theater because these sound and perform much better

I have'nt even hooked them up yet, I wanted to see if these were the real deal. I was already sceptical of the whole thing because my ex-roomate got the same one's for $300 last year and she thought she was getting a great deal... I listened to them back then and they sounded and looked great, So when I heard about this guy at my girlfriend's friend's mom's work I figured I'de bite. I did my research and everything looks legit.

Yeah I bought these out of the van with the same "we got some extra ones deal". I dont think they are that bad, I have them hooked up to a pioneer vsx-812. They sound alright, I guess a few websites say that the bigger speakers these guys were selling outa the van were pretty crappy. I only paid 200 and I might have over paid but I wouold have done that if I went to best buy or circuit city anyways. yikes...okay, i just bought these thiings today. haven't even hooked them up yet. the guys in the van just said "our supplier accidentally shipped us an extra one." i feel pretty foolish for believing them... the packaging all says "digital audio" but that's not actually the manufacturer. the manufacturer is dogg digital. if you look up digital audio 5.1 pro series III you won't find anything but a couple ebay auctions. the scam is this: the packaging and even dogg digital's web site says that the speaker system is retailed at $1999. but the ebay auctions only sell for about $100. so this seems like a scam. i'm reporting this to the BBB of california. dogg digital needs to be dealt with. if this is a legit product, then why are there several reports about guys selling them from the backs of their vans???
