Strength:

clarity, dynamic base

Weakness:

need a powerful amplifier

To be honest, I have never heard about Dynaudio before. I just stopped by a local audio dealer for my new front speaker, and they were auditioning this speaker.
I was surprised. I was thinking about some B&W speaker, but I got Dynaudio. If you are considering to buy a main speaker, please try Dynaudio. However, you need a powerful amplifier.

Strength:

Detail, Clarity, Rhythm, Cohesiveness, Controlled and Exteded Bass

Weakness:

Finish, require more power than others, no other weakness at given price

Building an entry level Hifi system (target=$2000) I bought the amplifier on the recommendation of a local dealer, then started to look for floorstanders ($800-1200). B&W 603s2 were too boomy and had no clarity, Linn Keilidh had an irritating treble (tweeters were damaged, dealer didn’t hear...) and bad bass extension, Triangle Zephyr II were somehow too forward, making them bad for “smooth” music, JM Lab Tantal 515 didn’t have the clarity I desired, the Visaton VIB Tristar were metallic sounding.
I returned to the Audience 60s several times and every time I was drawn into the music, no matter what I listened to. The Contour 1.3MKII were far better but 2 times the price. I listen to almost any kind of music and the Audience 60s deliver excellent results with all styles! I disagree with Mike about vocals, the 60s are clear and detailed but still very involving. Diana Krall’s voice in “Peal me a Grape” is wonderfully separated from the instruments, very involving and natural. Madonna’s “The power of goodbye” has excellent bass extension but the bass is not overwhelming the voice. With a difficult orchestral piece these are the speakers that get the strings right, while others lose detail and rhythm. An acoustic guitar has body and sounds natural...
Limitations: No speaker for “OOMMPHH”- bass, need powerful amps (not less than 80 Watts @ 4 Ohms) avoid harsh sources, the 60 will reproduce every detail, finish is bland, the money goes to sound quality
To sum up, I love the Dynaudio sound and think they are unbeatable for $800 (what I paid)! I am happy with my system and the biggest contribution comes from the Dyns!

Strength:

Unmatched detail and soundstage in any speaker in this price range and size.

Weakness:

Cheap vinyl boxes.
Will display even the slightest flaws in your CD's.

Was fortunate to deal with some real pro's at Music For Pleasure listening to these. Have lived with them for several weeks and I am very impressed. I swear I could hear the guitar player resting his hands on the strings. They bring out unbelievable realism and detail in music. Only couple of minor complaints in the cheap looking cabinents and could "maybe" use a little more bass. All in all these are the best sounding floor standing speakers of this size. They have an extremely small footprint for a floor speaker. They were most impressive listening to acoustic music. If this is your favorite music, buy these. Probably not the best music for head-banger rock and rap. Have to knock the value down because of the cabinents, not for the sound.
