Strength:
Very very accurate reproduction of music - what you feed it, it will faithfully reproduce.
Weakness:
Will not tolerate poor equipment or ancillaries - cannot be used with sub-standard equipment as neutrality is of the highest order Auditioned many speakers - B&W 7NT, PMC 1fb, Avance, Dynaudio Contour 1.8 MK2, Elac, Jamo, Kef, Accoustic Energy. Audience 72 is a real bargain, its half the price of the Dynaudio 1.8 MK2 and it is very close in performance. It is very detailed -you need very good equipment - my set is Sim Audio Moon I-5 integrated and Meridian 507 CD player, Van den Hul cables and interconnects - what I hear is very musical, dynamics is superb, detail is of the highest order, sounstage is very life like. You will not be disappointed - try listening to it with CDs that are recorded in DDD format and you will hear the diference. They will produce whatever you feed into it - so bad recordings will sound bad. Due to its very neutral sound, you will need to match it with musical sounding equipment. You will not go wrong whether you are listening to rock (Simple Minds, Tears for Fears, Eagles, Tracy Chapman, Sade, Mariah Carey, David Forster,) techno, classical. It can handle all kinds of music. I have been a serious music listener since 1976 and have owned and experienced many hifi sets. Make sure your CD and amp has a very low noise floor as the speaker will reproduce every little flaw in the system. Superb deep and controlled bass - this is where a good amp is needed - need very good control and you will get the best out of it. Speaker placement will affect the sound and you need to experiment - do it at night when it is very quiet. Soundstage and dynamics is there only if your equipment is up to standard - very accurate. Have owned speakers - Harbeth, Kef, Rogers, Accoustic Energy, ATC, Thiel (also very good). Looks are OK but not superb - vinyl finish - but who cares - its music you are after - if you want appearance then go for B&O or similar lifesystems. Again must stress that you need to match with good equipment otherwise you will blame the speakers for flaws that exists elsewhere in the system. If you have the right ingredients - you will find that it will match systems costing 2 or 3 times more. Very pleased with it after it has been run in properly. Similar Products Used: PMC, B&W, Avance, Elac, Thiel, Accoustic Energy, Jamo, Kef, Rogers. |

Detail, from bass to treble.
Weakness:
vinyl finish. These speakers are great! I have been able to listen to a lot of speakers over the years, including models from AE, Wisdom Audio, Rega, ALR/Jordan, System Audio, Canton and so on... But these speakers from Dynaudio must be one of the best sounding, and with the price in mind maybe even the best. I use them with my Copland system (CDA 289 cd-player, CSA 303 pre-amp & CSA 515 Power-amp). The cables are from Audioquest and Gignos. With this sytem they give an detailed and just a little laid-back sound. They give plenty of bass, lovers of techno, acid, ambient and goa should take a closer look at these speakers. For us with a more "normal" taste in music they are the perfect allrounder. I listen to a lot of music, metal & blues. From Elvis to Immortal. The speakers handles it all! If you have expensive cd-player and amps, try these speakers. They are a bit cheap (at leat in Sweden) but they can compete with products at 3 times the price. Don't be afraid to try the out, you will be suprised. Similar Products Used: See above. |

Strength:
Transparent sound, dynamic range, articulate bass, clear mid range
Weakness:
None found yet! This is a great speaker in all ways! I've searched for many speakers, listnin to many speakers, but at the end there was just one speaker that realy suited me. The dynaudio! This is a real nice speaker for music and Hometheater. The bass really goes deep and is very controlled and it is far from boomy-bass. The mid is very transparent and the tweeter very detailed. This speaker is a steel for its price. You have to listnin what i really mean! Similar Products Used: B&W, Quadral, JBL, Infinity, Chario |

Strength:
Sound and Build Quality, attention to detail
Weakness:
she have more dealers in the area I started my search for speakers about two years ago. The first pair I listened to were NHT(2.5) and Dynaudio(aud 70). from there it was B&W (CDM7) and lastly a few higher brand name for example Hales and Dunlavy. Maybe its just me but, as compared to the higher priced speakers above The increase in sound and Build quality that you get from higher priced speakers did not justify paying the extra money. so, I started looking in the 2000 to the 3000 dollar range for the front three. After about a year looking in this range I was down to B&W(CDM7), Cantom (Ergo), RBH(1044), Dynaudio(Aud), and NHT (2.5) Similar Products Used: B&W, NHT, Canton, RBH, Hales, and Dunlevy |

Strength:
Placial Soundstage, warm, smooth, detailed, so easy to listen to....
Weakness:
Vinyl, not wood, but still a very attractive covering. I have had many different speakers, but to date, these satisfy my hunger the most. They actually eat my Vandersteen 2CE signatures for lunch..no kidding. I think I will keep these, until of course, I can afford the Evidence line. Similar Products Used: Et all.. |

Strength:
Detailed highs, outstanding imaging, impressive bass response
Weakness:
Vinyl finish Upgraded from my previous Atlantic Technology 350 system, to which there is no comparison. Seriously auditioned Linn 5140s and B&W 602s. Found the Dynaudios to have high frequency detail similar to Linns and superior to B&W. Bass was similar to B&W, but could not keep up with Linns. Overall sound, however, was superior with my equipment - needed too much power to run Linns adequately. Similar Products Used: Linns, B&W, Atlantic technology |

Vinyl finish, 100+ hour break-in time. I love these speakers, period. They are perfect for the Classic Rock & Roll I listen to. You will never need a subwoofer like the Magnepans I use to own required. These speakers have such a warm sound that even badly recorded cds are listenable. This is the first high end system that I have owned and I must say that I'm impressed. I find myself listening for hours and hours. It's like I have a whole new cd collection which sounds as good as vinyl. Bill Baker of Response Audio (888-785-9773) put this entire system together for me with his advice. I don't think it can be beat for under $3000: Similar Products Used: Infinity SM115, Magnepan MMG & 1.6 |

Strength:
Silky smooth top end, tightly controlled articulate bass, nice warm mid range, excellent dynamics and extremely transparent!
Weakness:
None to my ear ... but they do need some power to sing! "Why didn't I listen to Dynaudio sooner?" ... I've been asking myself this question ever since these speakers arrived. Let me just say ... these speakers are sweet!!! The beat all of the speakers above by far IMO -- the Meadowlark was the closest.
