Strength:

Good, even, quality with nothing too dramatic but lets you hear the music.

Weakness:

Nothing so far.

I replaced an old but dearly loved pair of Heybrook HB2''s as we had revamped the living room and I managed to wangle a new pair of floor standers. The advice at Richer sounds was excellent and I have been very impressed with the sound, driven by an old Sansui 217 amp and tuner with a Phillips 373 CD player. I listen to a wide range of music, predominantly classical and the sound is just gob smacking.

Strength:

Deep Bass, Crisp Treble, Price, Looks (beech)

Weakness:

Gets slightly confused at high volume

I bought these speakers after the missions i got were faulty (richersounds sent me 2 pairs!) They have great bass, and good high frequency - but at very high volume it can get a bit flustered (maybe this is due to the impedance?? greatly appriciated if some in the know could e-mail me) The price for the ability of these speakers is amazing, and they look the part too, stick some sand in them , biwire them and your away! i would recommend these too Casual listeners - and enthusiasts alike

Strength:

A very good sound quality

A very good set of 5 speakers. Checking them at some local store comparing them to the best names like JBL and others didn't seem to have any big differences in the sound. I think its a good deal for 200$ for a set of 5 speakers. Connected them to my Harman Kardon reciver and they sound fantastic!!!

Strength:

Everything

Weakness:

None really although bass can sound a little confused at times

Bought these for £99 and what a bargain!.I've tried everything from watching the Matrix through to Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Albinoni, Madonna, and the Offspring and it handles it all with ease. They generate a clear treble and midrange with a convincing (usually) bass. The sounstage is wide and well defined and fills the room well. Like a previous reviewer they were harsh on the treble and midrange frequencies initially but now that they have 'settled' they are superb. Thoroughly recommended.

Strength:

Tight, clean sound. Beautifully weighted bass. Crisp and detailed trebble. Well built. Look fantastic in beech.

Weakness:

None so far.

Truly amazing for the money. I paid £109-what a deal! These speakers blow away missions in terms of sound and build quality. Wire them up with neutral sounding kit for best results.

Strength:

Outstanding value for money. Extended well controled bass and treble. Finnish and build is excellent for price.

Weakness:

Possibly a bit unrevelaing in the mid range and can get harsh if played very loud.

I bough these speakers for my girl friend (Yes she even asked for floor standing speakers). Because they were so cheap I thought I had better check them out first. I am glad I did because out of the box the trebble cuts your head off, but they run in fairly quickly and after about an hour they were much easier to listen to.
That is there real strenth they are easy to listen to, they have a good stereo image and only when played really loud do they get at all harsh. The sound is well intergrated and the timing is good. The mid range is not as revealing as my Meridians and the bass is not as deep or tight but since they cost 20 time more its not really a fair comparison.
For the money they are outstandingly good almost embarasingly so and I would recomend them to anyone looking for a cheap floor standing speaker.

Strength:

Clarity and punch, gets the adrenalin going with AV. Not bad for music either.

Weakness:

Bass has a lift at around 150hz giving the impression of being deeper than they are.

Fantastic value for money. Put 5kg of sand in them and keep them about a foot off the wall.

Strength:

Unbelievable (and I do mean that) sound quality for the price

Weakness:

None considering the price!

I was previously running a pair of Celestion 7's, which had been kindly given to me by a friend. I would not have upgraded them at all if it wasn't for a combination of new furniture arriving (thanks to the wife!) and a gift of some money (always nice!).

I bought these on the strength of the reviews on this site, plus the "What Hi-Fi" Rating.

I had the Celestions on stands: As these are floorstanders a change of postion was required. Unfortunately due to space restrictions, I can only get them just over a meter apart and about 50cm from the rear wall. Despite the fact that this is in direct contradiction of the Manufacturers advice, they sound absolutely superb.

I've bi-wired them into my Yamaha DSPA5 with Gale 315 bi-wire cable. Source is a Cambridge CD4 but as it's linked digitally to the Amp it only acts as a transport.

I listen to various stuff- recently Greenday, Radiohead and The Smiths have been given an airing and are all dealt with superbly by the Liberty's. In fact- Cliche as it might be but "Alive" by Pearl Jam is my favourite tune and I heard a new guitar track in the background for the first time..

I have to agree with another reviewer here: They are not short of Bass at all, but it never gets "Wooly". Flea's Bass on "Higher Ground" is replicated perfectly (Ok, not "perfectly" but what do you want for £100?!)

Likewise, treble and Midrange all do the right things.

Theatre wise: I demonstrated the Podrace chapter of the Phantom menace DVD to friends, (Source: Toshiba SD100E again linked digitally) and their reaction was overwhelming.

If you're looking for an upgrade at this price nothing comes even close (even at the £150-£200 level). I can't recommend them highly enough.

Strength:

Balanced, neutral sound. Crisp and extended treble, adiquate bass. Especially good with acoustic music.

Weakness:

Being picky (espesially considering what they cost), slighty laid back nature robs some music of drive.

I bought these to replace my old and heavily modified Mission 770s, which were getting a bit long in the tooth, despite being a classic of their day. I took a big risk and bought them without any listening tests, but my hunch about them sounding good with the rest of my gear was luckily proved right. I have a Roksan Kandy CD player and Creek 4330MkII Amp, both are nuetral sounding. If you are after fireworks, these speakers are not for you (my Mission 770s are up for sale). They only do what they can to reproduce the music. They don't add anything, only gracefully bow out when things get too hectic, which can let down some dance and rock tunes. Even so, the timing is never anything but right on the ball, one of their strong points. Be carefull what equipment you partner with them, I get the feeling they will show up any harshness or fizz.

I'm amazed how far they've made £100 go. Lovely speakers that let you kick back and enjoy the music. Highly recommended for anyone who has the kit to support them and wants quality speakers for not much money.

Strength:

Price (no question about that!), looks pretty good too, good construction, biwireable and good spikes.

Weakness:

None so far (really depends on the type of music you play)

I was looking around for speakers to replace my (ex-)current speakers, did my research on the web, asked around, listened to a few speakers and then came across a brochure from Richer Sounds. Listed there were these Eltax Liberty 5+ for $144 a pair (Fl 360,-). I went out and listened to them (and some others) in a separate room playing my own CD's (they let you do that at Richer's, which is good), and took them home. So far, I'm very happy with them. I've found that they sound great when playing jazz, especially vocals, and chamber music (Bach, Haydn, Telemann, Corelli, etc.) The midrange and treble is very clear, without sounding sharp, and you can hear the vocalist drawing every breath, or hear fingers moving across strings. They are very revealing! The bass comes out very well when you move them around a bit and find the right placement. Even moving them a few inches makes a difference here, so take your time with that. You can listen to them for a long time and not experience any kind of listening fatigue. Mind you, if you listen to any poorly recorded tracks, you will hear every hiss, crack and pop!
If you're into the kind of music usually listen to (see above), I would certainly recommend you give them a listen.
For this kind of money, you can hardly go wrong!
BTW, I biwired them into a Yamaha RX-V393RDS, and I'll fill them with sand to see if that tightens up the bass even further. They come with special ports for that. I'll let you know about that as soon as I get around to it.
