Strength:
Heavy cabinet, which gives good firm bass, very clear and neutral sound.
Weakness:
Needs a powerfull amp, best 100 watt RMS I bought the loudspeaker after listening to all types of other speakers. In the beginning i only looked for 3-way speakers before i decided that 2-ways can play nice as well. They are driven by Denon POA 1500 amp, year 1984 with 2x150 watt RMS, and pre-amp is PRA 1000. I have tried with the Audes SW 103 sub, but i think that the Studios are doing OK without it, so i placed it in the trunk of my car! Strength:
Very sturdy and defined bass output. High frequencies are precise and accurate.
Weakness:
Had trouble coping with some of my bassier d+b tracks at particularly high volumes. These floorstanders offer exceptional value for money. The Eltax 1.3s provide a good allround performance for a limited budget. I use them with my kenwood-trio 100w amp and my turntables which produces a perfect flavour of sound for my 20x20 foot room. Definately a good buy if money is an issue. Similar Products Used: B+W- forget which ones |
