This is a hybrid speaker consisting of a 8" woofer, and flat panel midrange and tweeter. Price is aprox $1700/pair. Properly set up the sound is as clear and transparent as anything I've heard. Seemed to be much clearer than comparably priced electrostatics. Similar sound to megabuck Genisis speakers minus the killer bass and volume. The speaker tends to roll off a bit above 10K, but that can be compensated for in a number of ways. I have a custom made, Walsh type super tweeter which mates nicely with the speakers and compensates for the roll off. This tweeter only adds some additional life to an already excellent speaker. The speakers are low efficiency by standard measurments. However I've heard them on an 18wpc tube amp, and they sounded great on jazz. I don't often see these speakers mentioned anywhere, but most reviews comment on the excellent clarity of the midrange. I concure.
