Strength:
Tight, clean, detailed sound. Image quite well. Seems to have tighter and cleaner bass than many bookshelf speakers in its class.
Weakness:
For full range sound, definitley needs a sub, but what bookshelf speaker doesn''t? Metal dome tweeter may not be to everyone''s liking. After auditioning speakers from B&W, PSB, Paradigm (the Studio 20''s), Sonus Faber, and Boston Acoustics, I picked the Veritas 2.1''s. I really enjoyed their tight, controlled sound, and pinpoint imaging as well. Vocals stay anchored in the center of the image, while extending beyond the L and R speakers. Seem to offer best sound on 24" metal stands, based on my listening height. Only speaker I auditioned that offered significantly better sound than the Mirage M290i''s (also a bookshelf with 6.5" woofer and metal dome tweeter) they replaced. At the 1k price point, they do very well. They may not be everyone''s choice, but anyone looking for a 1k bookshelf speaker should give these a listen. Similar Products Used: Auditioned PSB, B&W, Sonus Faber, Paradigm. Replace a pair of Mirage M290i speakers. |

Great highs and good mid
Weakness:
Since this is a bookshelf, it really needs a sub I have had this set of speakers for a year now. Similar Products Used: Energy C-2 |
