Strength:
great clarity and imaging. can handle lots of power, the more you give them the more they come alive.also great looking speaker
Weakness:
none that can see i have had these speakers for about 8 months and cant believe how good they sound for the price. i purchased a set of 2.2 at the same time as well as matching center channel. i just recently upgraded my yamaha rxv3000 receiver with a rx-z9 and the combination is unbelievable. the rx-z9 pumps out 170watts per channel and these speakers cant handle every watt. they are the best speakers i have ever owned. Strength:
I strongly suggest you read the reviews by John Higgins from the Absolute Sound. Also Andrew Marshal in the Audio Ideas Guide.
Weakness:
For the money.......negligable. My wife says that I have a speaker fetish. An incurable problem of keeping speakers for a period of time deemed too short for her liking. I like to experiment, buy good quality speakers for cheap, and sell them for profit. I have gone through Bose, JBL, PSB, Athena, Infinty, Wharfedale, Jamo, Klipsch, and Mirage, ending off with none other than a nice pair of B+W DM 703's. Of them all I truly did enjoy the sound of these speakers the most. But, money talks and when I was able to sell them and double my money, well... I sold them. Gonna get another pair of speakers I says to myself..let the auditions begin. So, I go to audioshop after audioshop and a feeling of what the hell have I done hits me. No speaker was giving me the quality of sound I have become accoustomed to hearing. At least not without breaking the bank, and with each speaker I listened to I am realizing more and more I made a huge mistake in selling the B+W's. I was almost going to settle for a pair of Atlantic Technology 6200 SR's but, again, they were missing something. Then I came across the Veritas 2.3i's, I started to smile again. I played five of my favourite cd's and with each cd I played I became more addicted to the speakers. No need to explain the fine nuances of the speakers, read the reviews or listen to them for yourself. For the money they are simply that good. If you can get a nicer sounding speaker without going into your second mortgage then get them. If you are on somewhat of a budget like I am then get these. I have since complimented these with a pair of 2.2i's and a Veritas centre channel. I am in heaven and these will be the last set of speakers I will own. Similar Products Used: The most comparable set of speakers that I have enjoyed would be the B+W DM 703's. But I would give the Veritas the nod by a hair. |

Sound Imaging Quality of Construction Size Front Firing Hard to beat at the price they are offered Will last for many years
Weakness:
Heavy Sometimes want a little more detail I recently purchased the Veritas 2.3i, 2.2i, and 2.0i series. I have had the set-up for about a month and half with HK AVR 8000. The 2.3i's sound very smooth and open. Very Satisfied. Quality of Construction is excellent. The gloss black looks great. Like everyone else has mentioned Bad Recording are not all that enjoyable to listen to - especially in my room set-up with HW flooring. All in all have been very pleased with purchase. Am interested in hooking them up to some higher quality separates Similar Products Used: Monitor Audio GR 20, StudioLab Reference 2, Dynaudio |

Strength:
Excellent highs and mids, very good bass. Tremendous detail even at high volume these babies love to be pushed.
Weakness:
For the quality you're getting at this price point, it's hard to complain. I did months of research trying to upgrade my speakers. My goal was to make a serious upgrade without killing my wallet. These speakers are the real deal. The are detailed, have tremendous imagery and are extremely neutral in sound. You need lots of power to truly bring these speakers to life. I run them through a Rotel RB 991 and a Denon AVR-3802 (which, by the way, provides a good deal of power (100 watts per) for a relatively low price). The results are astonishing. You'll be digging up old albums to experience what you've been missing all this time. If you're looking to upgrade, but not spend a TON of money, Do yourself a favor, go audition these speakers. |

Strength:
Make music sound LIVE; very rhythymic, vibrant, full and rich.
Weakness:
Because they showcase fine recordings, bringing out the best in them, they also reveal poorly recorded CD's. Just bought these speakers and all I can say is WOW!!! I can't believe what I've been missing. They replaced the Linn Ninka's which are fine speakers, but were not well matched with my Acurus A-250 (250 watt) amp;my CD player is the Rega Planet. Also I have a very large room with a 16' sloping wood ceiling. The Linn's sounded way too thin and refined in my room, with very little bottom end. These Energy 2.3's are just incredible. My big amp moves them along beautifully, and the sound is warm, rich and very vibrant---sounding more like live music than anything I've had, which includes Vandersteen 2 CE's, and Magneplanar 1.6's. They look gorgeous and don't take up a lot of space. I listen to mostly acoustic jazz and classical, but also enjoy vocalists, mostly female. The soundstage is remarkable which really makes classical music come alive. Before spending LOTS more $ listen to these first. I'm sure you'll be impressed. Strength:
value, balance, composure, wonderfully revealing.
Weakness:
placement and source is very very important. hasty set-up will result in poor imaging, out of phase-like sound, and thumpy bass. dont under estimate these speakers. they are easily as good as anything in their price class. they require a larger room or must be placed well away from back walls (3-4 ft -or bass will sound thick or thumpy, without definition). must use higher quality amp, source, etc. if hooked up and carefully placed properly you will be rewarded with a sound that is alive, open, deep, revealing and very enjoyable. character of instruments and voices is recognized. |

Go find out for yourself too many to list.
Weakness:
I did have to return them because the gloss finish started to peal off in the back. However I returned them and energy set me a new pair without issue. I submited a review on these speakers over a year ago before I had the proper gear to run them. At that time I gave these speakers a score of 4. Now I have to give them a 5. This speaker sounded only good when I ran it with HK gear and low budget cables but it now sounds great with the right gear and right set-up. I'm running with sunfire preamp/amp, MIT 2 bi-wires, and a Tetha Miles CD. |

Strength:
Excellent mids and sweet highs.
Weakness:
Other than longer break-in period, it did not have any weaknesses. These are one of the best speakers one can buy in the price range of $1600. If you get hooked to these, it is very difficult to listen to other speakers. Similar Products Used: Polk, Def Tech bp 2002 and Klipches. |

Strength:
Soundstage, transparency, SUPER tight bass! Amazing sound from such a small footprint.
Weakness:
None yet! When I first heard these speakers, I wasn't totally impressed. Could be because the show room was the size of an auditorium! However, the dealer was good enough to let me take them home and try them before I comitted to purchasing them. He told me that he was confident I wouldn't be bringing them back. Three weeks later, he was right. This is an incredible speaker. My HT room is 14x16. My system consists of a Cal Audio Icon MKII CD Player, Lecicon DC-1, Parasound 1205A, Parasound 1500A and M&K 105 Sub. When I hooked up these speakers I was simply amazed. The bass was powerful and tight, the mids were trasparent and the sound stage seemed to make my room sound much larger than it really is. The speakers simply disappear! With music, all I can say is that you must hear them to believe them. I have a wide variety of musical tastes, but tend to lean toward rock. Everything I threw at them sounded great. Acoustic guitars sound like they are being played in front of me! You can feel the kick and snare drums. Being a bass player in a band for many years, I can honestly say that these speakers are the closest thing to a live performance that I've heard. These speakers allowed me to hear how good my equipment really sounds. In my opinion, you need to open the amps up a bit to get a feel for what these speakers can do. It's not so much the increase in volume, but the soundstage really widens. (Maybe because they are not broken in yet?) Home Theater is a no-brainer. The ability of these speakers to produce the suttle details and dynamics of a movie is totally amazing! Can't wait until I get my center channel and surrounds to match. In conclusion, I couldn't imagine anyone being disappointed in these speakers. Try it, you'll like it! Similar Products Used: Polk (older good stuff), Legacy Audio, B&W. |
