Strength:
Transparent (the speaker disappears), BIG soundstage, very good imaging and exceptionally tight base.
Weakness:
Have not found any yet. I upgraded from PSB Stratus Goldsi to the JMlab Electra 920. I am very pleased with the JMlab speakers. I am using them for both home theater and music. They are great for HT but really shine for 2-channel music. The center image is very very strong with 2-channel music. I also have the Electra center and 2 pair of the bipolar rears. Strength:
clean, refined, refined, refined, musical
Weakness:
at 100 lbs. hard to moove around The 920's are super clean, refined and very musical. They will give all of the emotion being generated by the artist. It is very easy to hear any changes good or bad in any of the up stream hardware. With Theta, ARC and Atmosphere in the music chain the 920's are right at home. I have never gotten the feeling that they were the a weak link. These speakers are good enough to allow me several levels of up grades and still keep pace. I listened to numerous speakers in this price range, some good some not good but none came close to the refinement and smooth detail of the 920's. I like alot of depth and detail but with out cutting my ears. The 920's are a very solid product and worth the investment. With a frequency at the bottom of 32 hz, maybe a little lower in room response, it is not the last word in rumble. But they have never left me wanting to buy a sub. I compared them with the JMLab 915's, the 920's have a much bigger sound, with Theil, MartinLogan, Aerial and B&W, I,m sure that these speakers are good products but they simply did not have the easy finess and depth of the JMLabs. If you can afford them and are not looking to break windows with vulcano bass but rather are looking for refinement, detail and depth, please give the 920's a listen. |

Strength:
JMLab Electra 920.1 - Accurate and well thought highs, mids, and lows. Solid built with a sleek low profile look.
Weakness:
NONE! I am a fanatic in terms of little or any weakness and therefore upgraded from my Electra 915 to the 920.1 The JMLab Electra 920.1 is an upgraded version of the 920. I upgraded from the 915 to the 920.1. This upgrade gave me what I was looking for - an excellent combination of very clear and crisp highs, well rounded mids, and tight / accurate bass.
