Great sound for the money!! Remarkable soundstage and surprising bass giventhe size of the units. Speakers are very revealing, so if you match them with mediocore systems it will show. but if matched with audiophile components, they truly shine. If you get a chance, listen to them. You'll be amazed. |

Strength:
Elegant, stylish, versitile, subtle, and better than average sound with good subwoofer
Weakness:
Highs lack air, male voices sound a bit nasel, long break in, not great for large orchestral works I chose these speakers for my living room/listening room as they are rather unobtrusive and fit in well with the decor. Soundwise, I was surprised at how well they perform and they blend well with my powered subwoofer (AMC Ace-Bass B1-20). Similar Products Used: Bose Acoustimas 5 series. |

Stunning Looks, Great Stands, Requires very little power to sound great, did i say how great they look?
Weakness:
factory sub (which i opted not to buy) is weak for $$$ I spent a lot of time looking at different speakers.. i was stuck between going with a full tower setup and a sub/sat setup (my room is already sorta cramped and the towers would just reinforce that).. i was never really happy with most sub/sat setups.. most are set to be LOUD and not "clear".. so i was back looking at tower speakers and a nice reciever to power them.. and then one day i stumbled upon these little jewels in a local hi-fi store.. my girlfriend thought they looked nice.. and the price was below what i was gonna spend on towers.. and then the price of the reciever i need to power them for really good sound dropped from an Onkyo 777 to an onky 484.. another nice savings.. but what did they sound like? nice.. whole.. good soundstage.. i was surprised.. good sound.. good looks.. check them out.. (btw i recommend having a smaller room for these to really shine.. they lose a little in a large room) Similar Products Used: Energy take 5, bose, polk audio rm series and rt series, infinity interludes, and paradigm |

Strength:
A hell of a lot better than bose!!!!!!!
Weakness:
still has same shortcomings as any sub sat set i've ever heard don't have a lot of time so I'll sum it up like this. Don't bother listeing to bose when comparing these little beauties. Try one of the others listed above if you really need a sub/sat set if not you'll be happier spending your money on floorstandings because the sound quality is unparrelled to that of any sub sat set has to offer or can offer. Contrary to what Circuit City and Best buy will tell you there are a lot of products out there better than bose, this is an excellent example of one of them. Strength:
Style. Soundstage. Detail.
Weakness:
A bit weaker in the bass at low volume than my old JBLs. As others have said, these speakers simply disappear! Sound is everywhere. I'm using a relatively low-powered amp (50 wpc Creek 4330SE), but these speakers have a high sensitivity that allows very high volume levels with no distortion. The bass improves with volume. I replaced the 4-wire cable that comes with the speakers (it goes between the amp and the sub) with an Analysis Plus Oval 12: the sound got even more lush. I played hell getting these speakers here in Arizona (no dealers), especially since I wanted them in the new wine color. Gary Pelled of Gallo was extremely helpful during the difficult acquisition period (thanks, Gary). No discounts or closeouts here: I paid full retail, plus a premium for the color. This was money well spent. These speakers look and sound spectacular. If you want very stylish sound at a not-outrageous price, find a dealer willing to order them for you. Then put them next to a wine-colored Italian leather sofa and become very smug with yourself. Similar Products Used: None personally, but I've listened to others a lot, particularly Bose. |

I auditioned the Micros at a local audio dealer as well as in my home over the past weekend. I must take issue with those below who have been disappointed with the sound of the Micros without taking the time to set up the speakers properly. With high-quality loudspeakers (not necessarily expensive), setup is half the battle in the quest for high-quality sound. The gentleman below claims that he used the satelites (which, as the manufacturer claims, extend to 120Hz) with a Hsu sub that has an upper limit of 80Hz. This mismatch is really not doing the Micros justice as they were specifically designed to work with their dedicated passive sub. And while he and others below have claimed that, even WITH the passive sub, the sound was not to their liking, these impressions were based on in-store auditions. The question is: how did the store have them set up? What type of room treatment did they use? How were the speakers positioned? From what I have seen and heard, many dealers have set up the Micros in a less-than-optimal manner. The dealer I visited had them set up in the middle of a very large room where visibility is high but the chance of a truly meaningful audition is low. |

Male voices, no good for HiFi I use these nuts as surround speaker. I bought them because my new apartment has a strange layout, which forces me to use very small surround speakers. Similar Products Used: Yamaha NS-100 |

Weakness:
horrible almost unbearable sound Possibly one of the most hyped speakers to hit the market. Unfortunately, the little "balls" fail to deliver on hifi sound. Gallo's concept of eliminating cross-overs in a speaker is attractive, but as evidenced by the sound quality from these speakers, Gallo has far to go. These speakers are only bearable for acoustic or female vocals. Anything else is too much for them. Similar Products Used: nht superzeros, energy take5, bose lifestyle x.x |

Strength:
Great balanced sound; a sure winner when combined with Gallo active sub. Small package.
Weakness:
None Great balanced sound without the overly tinny higher frequencies associated other systems, such as the Polks, and without the unrealistically accentuated lower frequencies associated with the CVs; rich midrange and realisticly rendered higher frequencies; substantial warmth in the midrange often lacking in satellite/sub systems. Gallo active sub adds the lower frequency punch that the 4" satellites cannot physically deliver. Together, an excellent rendering of vocals and instruments. I recommend highly.
