The Genelec 8030 produce a very nice stereo sweet spot. Absolutely precise stereo imaging. BUT, they lack a little of bass response (although they produce much more bass than there size suggests, as all Genelec speakers). I recommend a Genelec subwoofer to improve their bass response and especially their overall performance. Together with a Genelec 7050 their are capapble of producing an incredible sound pressure for such a small speaker. Before this I used a Geneles 6010 and Geneleg 5040 and the Genelec 8030 with a 7050 are an incredible step ahead. Highly recommended. These speaker are build to last with a very nice design. You won't find such a build quality in consumer speakers imho.
Concerning the price: these speaker do not need any power amplification: a DAC or a pre amp is more than enough for a very nice sounding system. A revealing speaker.

8030A is the ideal near field monitor for both large & small studio application With best result for Hi , Mid & Low freq responce .It will take time to understand the loudness performance of this monitor specially after using large high decibel monitor like 1035B, but as you understand the monitor performance of 8030A you will always stick to monitor with 100 decibel Max or with lower loudness performance.
