I don't claim to be anything special when it comes to audio knowledge, but I know what i like. I agree with many other reviews on the 2000.4 when considering the low amount of bass. But if you add a sub, powered, they sound great together. I have 6 of the 200.4's Two front main, two rear, and two for surrond. Then I have 2 of infinities BU-2's for subs. I also have infinities cc-3 for the center channel. They all sound great together. I am running all theses speakers with Yamaha's 992. This is a great reciever. But if you are planning on buying these infinity 2000.4, I would suggest buying a sub.

These speakers are decent for the price. Listening to it reminded me of the the Paradigm Mini Monitor bookshelves. The Paradigm costs less but you'll have to invest on a pair of stands as well. If you can get the 2000.4 used, you're in for some good budget speakers.

These are some of the best sounding speakers I've heard. Overall bass level is a few decibals low but you would need to use a sub anyhow since bass starts to drop around 60 Hz. I compared to Polk RT600 and 400 and these seemed boxy and less detailed than the excellent sound of the Infinities which were on sale for half the cost. I also listened to the new horn loaded JBLs and they are to bright for my tastes as their earlier, hornless systems that used the 1" tweeter not the semi dome 3/8" tweeter. Carver ribbon sounds very good but has not the dynamics I demand in music and isn't very efficent on that end either.

I have been having the RS 2000.4 for about 2 years now and I find the speakers extremely good. And for the price the quality of the sound is superb. I think if you're in an apartment complex the bass is good enough and the high frequencies are extremely good.
I recommend them strongly.

I JUST PURCHASED THE 2OOO.4 FROM DAMARK AND I AM VERRY PLEASED WITH THE SOUND QUALITY OF THESE SPEAKERS , I HAVE A 75 WATT YAMAHA SUB SO IM NOT LOOKING FOR THE BASS IN THEM BUT AS FOR THE TWEETERS, I THINK THEY SOUND GREAT. FOR THE PRICE OFF THESE SPEAKERS YOU CANT BEAT THE SOUND.

HAVING OWNED SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH OF STUFF FROM MAGNEPAN TO SNELL BACK TO DALQUIST TO DEFINTIVE TECH TO BOSTON ACOUSTICS TO JBL TO NHT AND THEN SOME I HAPPEN TO FIND THIS SPEAKERS ABOUT AS EASY TO LISTEN TO AS ANY I HAVE EVER HAD. TRUE, BASS IS A TAD SHY, BUT WITH THE RIGHT ELECTRONICS, AND A GOOD SUB(NOT A PIECE OF JUNK) THIS LITTLE DEVILS ABSOLUTELY SAIL. DAMARK STILL HAS SOME 50 PAIR (SOME IN CHERRY) LEFT AT 200.00 PER. SO DO YOURSELF A HUGE FAVOR, BUY THIS LITTLE GEMS AND SIT BACK AND LISTEN, AND ENJOY.

I am very pleased with my Infinity 2000.4 speakers. They are the clearest I have ever heard. I listen to Jazz and classical, and they do incredibly well. The bass is not
boomy; it's as clear as the tweeter. It provides a very accuate and clean bass response.
I have these speakers in a bedroom, so I don't have to maximize thier power.

These speakers are really good if you don't play music that has a lot of bass really loud. They tend to distort easily if you do this (they only have 6.5" woofers). However, they have good sound and with what bass they do have, it's punchy, accurate and sounds good overall for the price. This is my first set of Infinity speakers and so far I am very pleased.

I recently purchased a pair of these via mail order, for what I felt was a reasonable $229. I agree with previous reviews, that the bass will distort if played really loud. But the highs are crystal clear. I have these attached to a Harman Kardon AVR-40 which only has 55w, but has more than enough power at 30% volume to shake the walls. For the money, these speakers are a great buy, and I would highly recommend them to someone who wants good sound at an affordable price. This is my first pair of Infinitys' and the reputation that has preceded them is justified.

Before owning these speakers, I was only a casual music listener. Thanks to these little babies, I now feel compelled to spend money on better and better gear. I almost wished I never heard them -- it would have saved me lots of money.
Honestly, I used these speakers to replace some very old Fisher speakers that I got in 1982. Needless to say I was blown away. Not only were these extremely clear, the base was more than I expected. These hit pretty damned hard for having such small woofers. But I agree that a sub would compliment these well for those situations where you would really want to feel the base (i.e. movies). I too heard things from my CDs that I never heard before -- and that is exciting. Once you know what your music is supposed to sound like, you can never go back to hearing only 95% of it. Well on my way to becoming an audiphile -- thanks Infinity (I think).
