Strength:

Mids, highs, clear sound, design

Weakness:

Not that powerful bass

I really like my Delta 60:s but I would appreciate a better bass. Feels like I have to back it up with a a subwoofer...
My music system besides the Delta 60:s is:
HK690, HK760, HK940, MIT Terminator4, Van den Hul D-102 III

Strength:

Good frequency range and powerfull bass

Weakness:

Size - They are pretty big, so don't be fooled by the pictures.

I started by buying my Delta 40s for front channels in my surround system, powered by a Sony DB830 (5x100W).
But when I found these babies, I had to purchase them after hearing them at the stores studio.

They deliver the "fat bassy" sound I like. The sound is clear and yet powerfull. I can listen to loud music for hours without getting tired ears.

Strength:

Clairity of highs and mids, plenty of bass, unique style and design typical of Infinity. Tall and powerful looking.

Weakness:

Trying to take off the grills without busting a peg, (about impossible even if you are careful.)

I bought these a little over a year ago, I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get them, one of the first pair disappeared in shipping. How you lose a 60 pound 4 foot tall speaker is beyond me, UPS? Anyway I love these speakers, they look great and sound terrific. I have always tried to have good electronics but on a budget, these speakers were a steal at this price. My only problem is the grills, I would like to be able to examine and check them without breaking a peg. When I had to send the first one back I thought I would be sneaky and switch covers with one of the new ones because it had a broken peg, well when I did that 2 pegs broke off, oh well.
If you can still find these speakers they are worth the money, I have them paired with a Infinity Delta center and Infinity QPS-1 surrounds, and an Infinity BU 150 15" subwoofer, they match up great. All being powered by a Pioneer Elite VSX-26TX. I bought everything online for $2000 delivered. You will never hear me complain about Infinity quality or performance.

Strength:

Solid Build, Clear Netural Sound, Exceptional High End Reproduction

Weakness:

A little light in the overall Bass reproduction. But still good sound.

I picked these up from Onsale.com for $269.00 each (+ S&H) with the idea of useing them as my 'back' speakers.

I went to a couple of high end stores and listend to the B&W's and Warfdales. I never could find a store with the Delta 60's. I found a store with the Infinity RS-5's that went for $249.00 each. The RS-5 seemed to me to be ok, but small in stature and sound and not such a good bargain. I mean the RS-5 sounded ok, but it wasnt what i was looking for.

I purchased the Delta 60 without ever actually hearing it.

My Conclusions;

A BIG-Tall floor speaker. ( Impressive In Size)
Very Good Cabinet Construction.
Solid, Well Built.
Has 2 sets of Binding Posts on the back.
(not sure why, for Bi-Wireing? the manual doesnt say)

I use Infinity Preludes as my front speakers. The Delta 60's added a new dimension. No, they don't sound anywhere near as good as the Preludes but they DO add Excellent second speaker sound.

One could easily use 4 Delta 60's as a complete system with the addition of a subwoofer and have a very very excellent sounding system in this price range. (Or higher)

It's clear & crisp. Good bass but not thundering. Add a subwoofer and you are in the big leagues for the price.

If you are looking at the Infinity RS-Series of speakers, then by all means go with the Delta 60's! The RS series isnt in the same league.

Bottom Line?
For what I paid for these, from Onsale.com I am estatic!
Any speaker in this class, from a audio store is going to cost about $800-$900 a pair.
Great Speaker in it's price range, Excellent Value up to $400.00 each. No Regrets!

Strength:

high and clear treble

Weakness:

A bit too big

This product is great. I picked them up about 8 months ago for 259 a piece. the highs are nice and crisp and the bass is nice and deep. however, if you want to use it for HT, you have to get a subwoofer. the binding posts allow for bi-wiring which make it sound even better. it's nice and heavy with a good structure. I would recommend it to anybody.

Strength:

You get a famous known brand for little money.

Weakness:

The trebble is too high. The emit tweeter is much too dominating

In this price area, you ca, buy the AudioPro Black diamond, which is way better, or a okay QLN speaker.

Strength:

Price paid

Weakness:

Tweeter

I just added some resistors to the tweeter cause the speakers sounded to bright. The brightness was quite annoying when you listen to Pink Floy or Crowded House.

For those of you who are handy, put a 0,87 ohm resistor in serie and 16.5 Ohm parallel to the tweeter.

(the impedance of the tweeter is 4 ohm, connecting the resistors will lower your tweeter with 2 db)

Strength:

Truly impressive sound will blow you out of the room. Very clear highs and good punch through the mid's and low-end freq's. Tall slim and beautiful.

Weakness:

I'll still need a good subwoofer for HT.

If you can find these for under $1000, buy them. You won't be disappointed!! Oh...I've heard better, but I've got to be realistic on what affordable.

Strength:

The EMIT-R Tweeter is absolutely the prime example of the fine engineering of Infinity Systems.

Weakness:

None

After hearing these speakers I searched high and low to get them in my living room. I called Infinity, I called the outlet, I called Harman/Kardon, I called overseas and nothing! Finally, I noticed that some dickhead turned down a pair for 550.00 with DMC Electronics... so I called DMC to find out if they still had it... and YES they had it. I ordered them right away!!! The stage sound is near perfect, although the highs are a bit exxagerated, the sound is crystal clear. The midrange is accurate and the bass responds rather quickly, creating an image far beyond other brands; Besides for those who do not want to look at they're home theater and say "I spent $35,000.00 on my system... and the speakers alone cost me $15,000.00"... you can't beat it for the price... Keep in mind that these speakers have been discontinued since Harman/Kardon bought Infinity... Yeah, since they couldn't build a better speaker they eliminated it... Duh... And have yet since to prove that they can build good listening speakers. If your into live recordings, rock, jazz or classical or beeter yet have Jimi Hendrix practically standing in your living room...then these are the speakers for you!

***I recommend Video Essentials DVD to fine tweek your system.

***And Make sure to use good cables... at least 16 gauge and absolutely bi-wires for the dual binding posts infinity offers. Monster Cable all the way!!!!!

My home theater includes:

61 Inch Big Screen
Denon 2801
Harman/Kardon DVD 5
Harman/Kardon CDR 20
Sony DTC-690 Dat Player/Recorder
Infinity HTS-20 W/12 inch 150 watt Subwoofer
Infinity Delta 60

Very well built and sounds great. I bought it on a online auction for $600 and they are well worth the money. I don't anything about the retail price however. Sounds extremely great when playing classical music or rap. however, when playing movies in dolby digital or pro-logic, sounds even better. With both 8 inch woofers, the frequency goes down to 30 hz. You can feel the action in the movies! They are definitely worth the money.
