Wow! This is an incredible speaker set. I purchased two of these to use as front speakers. They are unbelievably clear and crisp. Excellent high's and mids. As some others have mentioned, it could use a sub to round out the sound (which I have done). Set up this way, I don't think these speakers can be beat. I have used them with all types of music and DVD movies, haven't found anything these speakers can't do. From the highest highs to full, resonating mids, these speakers are beautiful. Highly recommended. |

Strength:
inexpensive, very clean sound
Weakness:
slightly to big for stands (though i have them on stands) I first bought 2 pair these because the price was sooo low. After listening for a week i bought two more pair to fill out a 7.1 configuration with my Denon 3802. They are very neutral, not drawing attention to any particular aspect of preformance which is good in movies and music. If you are looking for cost effective speakers these are it. Great for music and movies. Would not consider replacing with anything else under 1000$ a pair. Strength:
Smmoth midrange, nice finish, dual sets of gold plated binding posts for biamp or bi-wire capability.
Weakness:
Lack of treble "air". Uninvolving sound. Decent bass, but sounds muddled in the upper bass. I wrote a review shortly after a purchased the IL10 speakers, about 14 months ago. In the past year of extensive listening, in some respects my opinion has changed. Though still impressing me as being a very smooth speaker in the midrange frequency area, I am less impressed with the IL 10s overall sound. There is little or no "air" in the treble. The bass is adequate but is muddy-sounding at about 100 HZ or so. The sound is not very engaging. I fail to feel "involved" while listening to these speakers. I have since moved them to my office, and replaced them with the Paradigm Atoms that I had at the office. The matching center speaker, the IL25C, sounds okay, but is equally unimpressive. Similar Products Used: Paradigm Atom speakers (though Infinity's are about twice the cost). Listening to Polk RT-38I when audtioning the IL 10. |

Strength:
Crystal Clear high and midrange. Solid construction.
Weakness:
They are bookshelf speakers so there is very little low end. I recently purchased the Infinity IL10 from the Ebay Harman Kardmon store. They were refurbished, but looked brand new. I am very impressed with the sound produced. They have a very clean nuetral sound, and produce crystal clear high and mid range sound. At times they can produce suprisingly good base, but I would highly recommend pairing them with a subwoofer. I would recommend these speakers to anyone. |

Price i paid Highs Mids Clarity Looks
Weakness:
NONE I picked up these speakers along with my Onkyo txsr500. All i can say is WOW. These speakers are clearly some of the best High/Mid sounding speakers i have ever listened to. These can be used as the main speakers or as surrounds. If used as mains they will need a sub though because the bass output is only fair. Definatly a steal. Strength:
From 80Hz midbass on up, they are neutral, articulate, clear and transparent. The basic character of the CMMD material is one of tremendous propagation speed with truly excellent damping and low ringing. Great imaging and transparency, with wide and smooth dispersion, could be made even better with cabinet damping tweaks. Decent power handling with lack of congestion. Fairly easy load for most amps. (Try some tube amps!!)
Weakness:
Lower bass range. Stuff a wool sock in the ports and use a great subwoofer like one of the good Velodynes or the big REL- this little gem really deserves to be paired with great subs. Kudos to Infinity, and PLEASE disregard any of the low scores posted by jerks who are obviously out to discredit a fine product. I'm a professional speaker designer with over 30 years experience in High-End and the IL10's represent a phenomenal value, perhaps the best I have found in mass produced, wide-distribution audio products. (And NO I do not work for Infinity or a store, so park your nastygrams right where they belong.) From 80Hz midbass on up, they are neutral, articulate, clear and transparent. The basic character of the CMMD material is one of tremendous propagation speed with truly excellent damping and low ringing. (I wish I had this kind of cone to work with in any of the easily or readily available "audiophile" OEM woofers, I could make some really incredible megabuck systems!) By the eway, these are like a really fine basic sports car... a platform that deserves some additional enhancements to REALLY perform. They are ideal candidates for tweako-philes, especially if you damp out the interior of the cosmetic faceplate (take out the rubber sockets for the grille, unscrew the faceplate, damp it with mortite or blu-tack and reassemble). For more elaborate tweaks, you could drill through the enclosure sides and add a tensioning bar...and one from top to bottom. The basic drivers and engineering are excellent and a fantastic achievement for the price, and deserve a really good enclosure mod. Then you could swap for audiophile grade crossover parts. The result? Unmodified, better than most $1,000 speakers. Fully modified, hard to beat with ANY speaker under $3,000 I use mine with a 15" Velodyne sub and the results are as good as you can get for under 4,000 USD and better than most multi-kilobuck rigs I have heard. Again, shame on immature or dishonest jerks who are deliberately trying to drop the scores on these. We need to encourage more audio companies to make fine products like these. Bravo, Infinity ! This product line makes me want to go work for you. Similar Products Used: Thiel, ACI Sapphires, Wilson WATT, many many more high end speakers. |

Strength:
Smooooooooth mid and highs. Can be bi-amped which is a definite improvement.
Weakness:
Not the strongest in the bass department but what do you expect from a 6.5" woofer. I guess everyone else on this site is wrong concerning the Infinity IL10 according to the previous review. You cannot compare the IL10s to speakers that list for double the price. That's really not fair. The Infinity's got a rave review at SoundStage magazine. Check out the review on www.ecoustics.com. Overall not the best but very smooth and easy to listen to for extended periods. A good value in my opinion. These speakers suck quality sound price I am getting rid of all of my Infinity speakers. I have not been satisfied with these. I recently heard my friends new Polk LSi series speakers. They are awesome sounding. He has the whole top of the line LSi series. The LSi25 fronts, LSiC center, and the LSi9's for rears. I have the whole Interlude series and I am quite disappointed. I will be tossing these as soon as I can. Similar Products Used: Polks |

Strength:
Excellent construction with the C.M.M.D tech! Great HI's all the way down to Buddy kicking that woofer through the rear port of the speaker. Job Well Done Infinity!!
Weakness:
If your going to use these as part of your HT, get a decent Sub to take off some of the load of the woofer and the mids really stand out. Moreless the IL10's woofer servers as an excellent midrange for a full spectrum of sound! Auditioned these speakers for a friend that wanted my opinion at a local retail outlet.I always bring a few of my own test CDs.Buddy Rich drum solo, Neil Peart(Rush)drum solo Buddy played Ludwid drums with a big fat Big Band sound and ofcourse Neil Pearts classic Tama set along with some new Tech speaker test CDs for max Hi's and lowest of lows. Well...I bought them myself right then on ebay. Similar Products Used: Considering that I own a pair of Alon Exotica's , you've never heard sound at its truly finest. This is a very high end Speaker. |

Strength:
-well above average vocal/tonal quality -smooth as satin highs -firm and tight to near thundering bass -visually artistic to the eye
Weakness:
They can only be appreciated with volume turned up as they will reveal their solid and undistorted performance ! No, I am not an audiophile with 50 years of listening expereince. No, I am not a teeny bopper who only thinks "bass is cool, man !". And, no, I will not score these speakers at a 1 rating or zero just to be immature, idiotic and spiteful just to bring the average rating on this product down ! I am your average hardworking Joe who appreciates some of the finer things in the audio/video realm. The vocal tonal quality of the IL10s is clear and on the mark (for not having a built in midrange). The highs are well defined and silky smooth yet not ear piercing. The bass range does pack a somewhat firm whallop for bookshelf speakers this size ! The overall physical design (in the natural maple color) and the "sexy" curved grey cloth grilles (allowing a hint of the woofers to peek out the sides) make these units sonically desireable and aesthetically pleasing. They almost resemble contemporary wood sculptures in an art museum. Yes, absolutely, without a doubt, the IL10's sound as awesome as they look and vice versa...and to think I'm only running these beauties off a 10 year old 70 watt Kenwwod receiver. If they sound this impressive then they must surely sound spectacular hooked up to an audiophile receiver or amp ! Similar Products Used: A couple of Polk bookshelfers which sounded too artificial in the midrange and bass;nowhere near as natural sounding or attractively looking as the IL10s ! |
