I have had these quadripoles for about a month now, they are without a doubt the best sounding rears for the money. I am a Circuit City employee so I have had lots of time to play with them all and these outdid even more expensive rears. I have found myself having to turn them down as the sound from them covers a huge area. I highly recommend these speakers, they will make any movie sound like its gonna jump out of the screen and grab you.

Bought my QPS1 online for $200 (including shipping) about a month ago. Mounted them on the back wall, 9' high. These are the best sounding rear speakers I tested at the local superstore. The sounds are crisp and clear. Surprising sometimes the sounds that are masked w/o surround sound. I am thoroughly enjoying these speakers and will recommend these to anyone. BTW, I use the JVC 884 DDS receiver and I hear no hiss at high volumes. I gladly give these speakers all five stars in rating, but buy online at Netmarket. Even with the membership of $69, you save over 50% on price rather than superstores.

These are five star surrounds! sounds great connected to my Aiwa AV70 480 watt receiver, with Infinity RS3 for fronts, Optimus CS5 at the center, and a 10inch KLH subwoofer. These are loud and clear even at low volume.

I bought the QPS-1's hoping for a good voice match with my RS-5's and CC-3. What a disappointment. I have been using very cheap speakers as surrounds (indoor/outdoor Jensens, $35-$65/pair), and could not decide which speaker sounded better. Placement does make a difference with these speakers, but the little 3" drivers (said to be full range from 80Hz-20kHz)just do not deliver the performance I expected for this price. These are definitely going back; I think that I will direct that money towards a speaker system upgrade that I have been planning anyway.

I listened to these speakers at Circuit City last week and am a bit confused. The salesman played a Zorro track with crowd sounds going to the QPS-1s and I thought they sounded fantastic and radiated some very diffuse sound. I then asked him to play some music through them, and while I didn't expect any bass from them, I was very surprised that the higher frequencies too sounded muffled... really awful. Any explanations for this?

First checked out the QPS-1's at my local Circuit City store. Watched Godzilla on DVD and I had to have these speakers. I bought a pair from The Sound Professionals (www.soundpros.com) for $199.00 delivered. My QPS-1's are matched with Infinity RS 2000.5 fronts, BU-2 sub, and an old (soon to be replaced with an Infinity CC-3) Advent center channel. I highly recommend these speakers as rear surrounds, especially if you can pick them up for $200 bucks or less! I give my QPS-1's a 5 Star rating.

Need some help here. I plan on upgrading my home theater pkg. I have been looking for a bit now, reading reviews etc. but, I keep coming back to getting the RS-5's, CC2 or cc3 for center. The rears is a toss up. I thought about RS-3's, but I like the QPS1.. speaker placement seems to be a key factor with these. I have an open floor plan in the family room on the right side so I would have to place the QPS1 on the rear wall instead of the side wall. Which way RS3 or QPS???? based on reviews i will go w/ mid ground and give 4

I got these speakers a few months ago, and have been very happy with them. I was considering getting an RS1 or RS2 for rears instead, the QPS1 worked much better for my room layout.
In my situation, I have a very long room, with the rear speakers on the side walls. In back of the surround sound TV area I have an eating area and kitchen. This whole area has 9-10 foot ceilings. The QPS1 worked better for me because it spreads the sound out more. You get the full surround sound effect when sitting in the TV area; and for general music (using 3-D sound) it spreads the music all the way to the eating and kitchen area.

For a smaller room, I'd recommend something from the RS series, but for large or spread out rooms, the QPS1s are really great. I didn't think the sound was quite as rich as a RS2, but the other advantages outweighed the difference in sound quality. For rear spaekers only get a fraction of the surround sound sent to it, so it's not as critical as the other speakers.

I have the CC2 for the center, a great speaker for where all of your voices, and most of your sound is going to come from. My front speakers are older Infinity 3-way speakers, and a BU2 sub-woofer.

Of course, the other obvious advantage is that if they are mounted on side walls, they lay very flat to the wall and are not as noticeable as the box speakers.

Bought these because of the really compact size and ultra-light weight. Only about 4¼ in depth.
I knew not to expect much from these speakers but was
suprised. They have a airy wide sound. Very muffled on
music but good enough for rear effects. I only use them for music and couldnt see paying $1000 for a pair of surrounds
that are only active for about 10% of most movie where you
can really hear them. I thought it would make more since to put that extra money towards main speakers or a center
channel. (or some new vavles/tubes :-)

My main interest is 2-channel TUBE audio anyway.

I would recommend them for small listening rooms. (mine is
12x12x12). If you are using them in your living room or
basement then maybe something else on the market would be
better.

3.25 for sound quality. (movies)
5.00 for cosmetics, weight and size. (when space is a
problem)

Strength:

Style, sound quality

I needed a new pair of unobtrusive surrounds, and these did the trick (got a great price at Sound Distributors.com). While I'm not an audiophile, I wanted a great, practically invisible pair of surrounds to replace the ugly, clunky old black boxes I had hung on the walls (my girlfriend was thrilled with the new white QPS-1s). If you live with a budding interior decorator, these may be the best way to go. I do not usually listen to music through them, but they certainly kicked serious butt on the DVD version of "Yellow Submarine" in Dolby Digital. Other titles, such as "T2" and "The Matrix," sounded equally awesome. A great complement to my Infinity RS 5, CC3 and SSW-10 subwoofer.
