Just bought a pair of Infinity RS-8's. Basically each is a rs3 with a 100w amp and subwoofer added. If you like the rs3 like me then you'll love the room moving bass added by the powered sub. As front stereo speakers they are great. I paid around 870 dollars at Circuit City for them which is a decent price. They are fairly bright and you need to angle them in to get the stereo to sound good. The detail in the highs is especially nice. Hope to add center and rear to assess them as home theater speakers. They do have a separate subwoofer input on the back of each. Overall I'd give them a 5. |

I purchased the 2000.3's awhile back and was impressed at the time from the studio demonstration. However, there is one problem with these speakers. The bass produced is quite lacking. I had them in the corner at first, and bass was just fine. When I moved them to the wall I knew the bass would decrease, but not by as much as they did. However, I don't think most people would keep these speakers in a corner, because the music sounds like it's coming from a corner, and they don't fill the room with sound. They produce high and mid ranges accurately, but without the bass they speakers left something to be desired. Paired with a subwoofer, I think these speakers would make a great mini-system for those not wanting to spent alot of money. I saw them in a Damark catalog for $149 for the pair, which is a good deal. Anything more than $149 you might want to consider some speakers with more bass.(I used my speakers with a Harmon Kardon AVR 20 mkII |
