Strength:

Amazing mid range for two way speaker.

Weakness:

None for the price.

Its amazing what you can find if you look in the right places. The imaging, sound stage and dynamics of these speakers are on par with speakers costing $2000. All my friends, even those who dont know much about stereo gear have said how great they sound. They even sound good on the old Kenwood, but a bit bright. They seam like a perfect match for my Musical Fidelity AC3R amp and pre-amp. I use Monster Cable Refence throught out my system. They dont sound nearly as good on mid-fi gear. If you want a quick fix and youve got a clean amp. Buy these babys. Just goes to show it doesnt have to be over $5000 to audiophile grade.

Strength:

Bomb-proof build quality, real oak construction, fully-sealed cabinet gives tight fast bass. No dome tweeter I''ve ever heard gives as much zing as this unit.

Weakness:

Spring-clip terminals, treble detail is almost too transparent, sometimes revealing poor recordings.

Great bass, lots of treble bite. Bought these speakers when they first came out in 1995 when I lived in California. Liked them so much I paid more to ship them home than I did for the speakers. Shame I didn''t buy some of the bigger SL floorstanders too.

Nope. These Infinities have seen off many a tempting upgrade from the likes of B&W, KEF, etc...

Strength:

Surprisingly good bass for a bookshelf speaker.

Overall an incredible buy from Ubid for around $47 for the pair. I am using them as surround speakers with a Denon avr1700 receiver and an Infinity cc-1 center channel with bose model 4b mains (As far as I am concerned the only Bose worth anything) The speakers also work pretty well as main speakers if you don't mind a slight lack of bass. If you have a limited budget you should definitly purchase these speakers. I highly recomend them.

I bought these at uBid for 47 a pair, and picked up 2 pair, one as my main, and one as my surrounds, and they are excellent speakers. You'd think the bass wouldn't be that great with only a 6-1/2" woofer, but they pump, and the highs sound very clean and bright. Overall, these are excelent speakers, and for the price, probably the best thing you can buy if you are on a budget like me.

I purchased a pair of these from uBid for $48 (they come two to a box) and initially tested them as fronts on an H/K AVR10. uBid is selling these as the ss2002, but when you receive them, the box and manual indicate that they are the SL 20s.
I must say, these things sound every bit as good as my Reference Series 2000.5s. I purchased them with the idea of using them as surround speakers (a task for which they serve wonderfully with other Infinity speakers). After listening to them as main speakers, it seemed a shame to waste them in that mode, but the fact that they gave such a great performance as fronts convinced me that these are the perfect set for surround!

They deliver tight bass and clear highs. I cannot fault them in any regard and would swear on anything as a testimony to their performance. I am absolutely in love with these! They are much better than anything that is sold as a dedicated surround speaker. Do yourself a favor and pick up a pair of these if you can (especially if you have Infinity Reference speakers!).

I am a firm believer in obtaining quality components for your surround speakers, yet most of the products sold specifically for this purpose don't deserve to be used as training paper for that new puppy you just bought.

These were an afterthought for me and honestly I didn't expect much from them. Was I ever surprised! One of the best purchases I have ever made (and trust me, with the amount of student loan money they threw at me in Law School, I've made a few).

This is a great product that can be had at an unmentionable price! This just goes to show you, if you are willing to wait for prices to go down, you can have very nice sound! I am like the rest of you, I want the latest and the greatest now, but if you are willing to look back for products that may have been discontinued for a year or two, you get so much more for your money.

Best speaker buy I have ever made!

Strength:

Great Bass For The Small Size

Weakness:

The 6 ohm rated load caused a minor problem

I have had these speakers for about five years and they still sound GREAT. The bass that is produced from that small woofer is amazing and the high end is very sharp. I used these speakers for my mains for a few years before I upgraded to surround sound, now they are my surround speakers. If you can find these speakers and are shopping on a budget I WOULD LOOK NO FURTHER.
