Bought these brand new after using Pioneer products. Bought them for the name. Worth all the money and more. Just play Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing" through them to prove it. Little weak on bass but agree subwoofer augments them nicely.

Strength:
Probably the best sounding loud speaker I've EVER heard in the price range. You gotta spend a LOT more to do better. They sound very good for any type of music. Very clearn, sharp, and tight.
Weakness:
I don't notice a weakness in bass as others reported. Maybe it's the amp I'm using. Loudness is on with trebble and bass dead north. No real weakness to report. At the moment my HT is in storage and I'm using the 115s as stereo playback only without a sub and the bass might be weak compared to what they might look like they can do, but they are very tight and sound AWSOME with SACDs. If you are having problems with bass, or quality, you probably need a better amp. I choose the Infinity SM series speakers over Polk Audio and klipsch for both sound quality and loudness. I acually got the SM speakers for a 5.1 system, so I'm using the SM video for the center channel and smaller SMs for the rear. 85s I think. To this day, I havn't really heard anything better that doesn't cost near a grand or more. I heard a pair of Definitive's that acually did sound better, but cost so much, the improvment wasn't nearly enough to want to buy new speakers. I'm the audio blacksheep freak in the family and I don't know too many people who are really in to audio stuff, but to this day, I've never heard a better setup any anyone else's home. I do have a huge Velodyne to back up any weekness in bass, so I don't notice it. |

Strength:
Good mids and highs
Weakness:
Bass response is weak, could have used 5-way binding posts in the back I too got these speakers for a steal off of ubid for $200 shipped. Three of my friends and myself picked them up because they were going for such a rediculously low price. Out of the box, these speakers had impressive vocals and midrange frequencies, but the bass was lacking. I thought I would wait for them to break in and see what happened, but alas the bass has never appeared. Its not that I miss it that much, but I just expected more from a 10" bass driver. When I read of and hear other speakers with smaller bass drivers that produce lower frequencies, I cringe a little at what I'm missing. It seems to me that the SM 125 has similar problems, since my friend picked up a pair from ubid. If I had paid more than $400 for these speakers, I would feel like I got ripped off. At $200 for the pair delivered, I have been pleased with their performance, with clear mids and highs plus a decent soundstage, but I will start looking for their replacements this summer. By the way, my 115's are powered by a NAD C340 mated to the NAD 515 cd player. Similar Products Used: Infinity SM 125 (Auditioned), Cerwin Vega RE Series (12) |

I got the speaker for $77 each($200 for a pair with S&H) from ubid. I give it a five star for the affordable price with good sound for a small room. |

I too got these speakers for a great deal from ubid (87 a piece) and they fit in to my home theater system great. Although it is a good price i have seen them for sale on ubid for sometime after i got them and it makes me wonder why there are so many that were never sold. I also see the SM 125 for sale for about the same price every now and again and i kind of regret no waiting out and getting those but am still very satisfied with the SM 115's. Because of the bang you get for your buck with these speakers i give them a 5 out of 5. |

I just upgraded from Bose 201 Series IV's and I have to say that I have been missing alot. Listening to these 115's has opened up a new audio experience. The speakers are incredible. I could never go back to anything Bose again after hearing these. |

Just got pair of SM115. Very good for about $250 (include SH), excellent sound for classical and pop. I think it hard to tell the differences when compare to any speakers with price less than $1000, or please let me know! |

Infinity SM-115 could not have been better for a guy like me who is starting into the the world of discrete systems moving over from compact all-in-one systems. I bought these from ubid.com for $79 each. Not a bad deal at all!The mids and the highs are excellent! But bass response leaves you a little bit disappointed. But as some one said above that a sub woofer will do the trick. |
