Strength:
All I mentioned above plus high sensativity...100db.
Weakness:
placement highly determines sound...bass not low and boomy....thats what the sub is for anyway so this is not really a weakness. These things are amazing. great sound quality. Crisp highs, smooth mids, and punchy, tight bass. Ince broken inn properly they are one of the best souding speakers for the money. Have heard amy quality speakers out there and this one stands out. Esp. for the price. If you can find it, get it. Seriously. Similar Products Used: JBL studio sereis, boston acoustics, klipsch, bose, sony. I would say these speakers are comprable to the klipsch in terms od high end detail. |

Strength:
Great bass, mids, and highs
Weakness:
None as of yet Compared to the Yamahas, these studio monitors rock. when I first got them, only one came the first day, so I hooked it up by itself to compare it, and it was about 10 times louder than BOTH Yamahas. I haven't had them very long, but so far I am very impressed. I put some serious thought into which speakers to purchase, and auditioned some PDS bookshelves that ran $250 for the pair, but had 8" woofers also, and they had nothing in comparison to the SM's either. I read a lot of reviews about a lot of different speakers, and am very glad I went with these. For the price, I think these speakers are a great value. My friend owns a pair of Polk RT 2000p, or RT1000p (not sure which), but they cost either about $1600 or $1000 respectively. For half the price I would take the Infinity's any day. Got mine at buy.com for $500 shipped for the pair. Similar Products Used: Yamaha with 8" woofers, 4" midrange, and 1" tweeter |

Strength:
Perfectly clear presentation, even at loud levels. Look great. Extremely affordable now (for some reason).
Weakness:
None. They are however big and heavy. Probably a bit much for a small apartment unless your neighbors are deaf. I did my homework to buy highly-rated, new speakers at the best price I could find. The Infinity SM-215s were selling at Egghead recently for $99 each. I got two shipped for a total of $266. In my modest opinion, that is off-the-scale for value and quality. The 215s are even better than I imagined. To echo another reviewer, I have heard things on CDs recently that I've never heard before (subtle voices, strings and pianos in the background , the squeak of a hand chording an acoustic guitar, etc). They are awesome for my small music room and would absolutely fill up a banquet hall with clean sound. Similar Products Used: KLH, JBL |

My previous system included a very nice set of JBL L1s, and a set of not so nice Optimus Sx770s. Not bad speakers, but they were being gruesomely out-performed by the JBLs. So, I toodled on down to the local Electronics Express, and took a peek at what they had. The SM 215s were on sale for $199, and then the salesman took aboth $20, bringing my price to $179 for each. In the store, I stayed for about 2 hours, tyring them out, and was very impressed by what I heard. Nice lows, clear mids, and highs that didn't sound tinny or cracked. When I got home, into my small apartment, the difference was amazing! They quite literally shook the walls. The clarity of the sound is what impressed me; even at high volume (I couldn't turn my 100 watt receiver up past 5 without seriously hurting my ears.) I noticed very little in the way of distortion. I noticed the faintest bit of "cracking", but I believe this is a wiring problem, and not the speaker's fault. Once I ditch my crappy wiring this problem should clear up. |

Strength:
Full, clear sound- not biased in any direction. Neutral and natural. Great price!
Weakness:
Have found none so far at this price! I feel the Infinity SM215 speakers were the best bargain out there- got mine at Onsale.com for $350, including shipping. Very full range of sound- heard things in music I've missed before. Similar Products Used: Had Infinity speakers before that finally wore out! |

Good Looking, Nice, Crisp Highs.
Weakness:
Not enough bass, I've had these speakers for over a year. Whith my old Kenwood they sounded good but with my pioneer i've noticed that they just can't hold the power. They're rated at 10 to 175 and the Amp is 100 So the problem is beyond me. They have been checked and are NOT blown. I use them for a rear set now and they are more suited to that application. Weakness:
Quality I found a great deal on these at the Onsale auction so I bought 4 at $79 each. Great sound and can't be beat at tthat price. Only problem I had was that in 3 out of the 4 speakers, the crossover knob didn't work correctly. It just kept spinning while in the 4th speaker it had definite stops at each end. Don't know whether it's worth bringing this in for repair. I complained about it to Onsale and they refunded my $150 shipping charges. |
