My speaker is the 1.8A model.
General Description: Walnut finish. 3 way floor standing design using 2 10" woofers, 6.5" midrange and 1" tweeter. Bi-wire/Bi-amp capable. Sealed enclosure. Speaker weighs about 100 lbs.

Sound: Smooth, clean midrange. Good bass extension in my room, -4db measured at 25 HZ. Mid-hall balance for the highs. Not the last word in detail, but good all around. Good dynamic range and power handling; not problem filling my 8000 cubic foot room with sound. In general an excellent speaker given its vintage, ten years old. Surpassed by equivilent price point models today. I recently replaced with PSB Stratus Goldi. Note the 1.8A retailed for $1995. Star rating is based on comparison with todays products. I would rate at 4 stars 10 years ago.

Note: To provide a fair picture, the reader should be aware that I am selling the these speakers, so you must take this review in proper context.

Strength:

The speakers provide extended low frequency response.

Weakness:

The speakers are very large and the cabinet finish quality is average at best. Had to have one woofer cone refoamed.

The JSE model 2 is a wonderful loudspeaker, it provides a large soundstage with extended frequency response. The low frequency response is this speakers best feature. I have yet to hear a speaker anywhere near its price ($2300 pr)perform as well. The mid frequencies are a little subdued but very listenable. The speaker provides a large soundstage and a clean uncompressed sound regardless of the volume. The high frequency output is also quite good. If you see a pair of these speakers used, check them out, you will be glad you did.

The oak laminite on mine is peeling

I bought these used about four months ago, They sound magnificent on my Kenwood Eleven G Each side has one 10 inch woofer, one 8 inch woofer, one 6.5 inch midrange, and one 1 inch dome tweeter made by Dynaudio, All other components are made by Seas.
