Kenwood Model LS-408B Speakers

I bought a pair of these new in 1978, powering them with at first with a Sansui G-5700, then a G-6700, later a G-7700, and now a G-8700. At the same time I bought these, my brother bought the same receiver and a pair of JBL L-100s. My Kenwoods have out-performed EVERY speaker I have ever listened to, hands down

Whether jazz, classical, or classic rock, and whether at whisper soft or window shattering levels, these speakers are audio orgasmic!!!

Even with 37 years of use and countless moves, the cabinets and grills are still absolutely flawless, not a chip, scratch, stain, or snag of any kind. If you can find an original pair, don't hesitate to get them.

One of Kenwoods finest acheivements in speakers was only made for two short years, 1978-79. Designed with an extensive amount of Research and development, the LS-408B is in a class by itself. Having the tightest bass response with the flattest response curve of any speaker of this size & type you will ever hear. EEG meter testing of the bass port revealed only one cycle overshoot indicating superb damping, with absolutely no huffing heard during playback. Midrange and tweeter are the cleanest, clearest, most detailed and uncolored &, unharsh you will ever hear. Expect ZERO listening fatigue with these babies playing ANY type of music! Trouble is with these speakers is they are 30 plus years old now and are extremely hard to find. I have had mine for the better part of 20 years, among listening to many other brands and types of speakers, I ALWAYS end up going right back to my LS-408B's!
