Strength:

Regardless of the music played they sound great. Available on the used market. Very efficient

Weakness:

Large, but I think attractive in the real wood finishes

Possibly the largest single audio mistake that I've made in the last ten years was getting rid of my Chorus II's. I bought them at a pawn shop for $200.00. Put another $250.00 in them to bring them sonically back to perfection and refinished their fine wood veneer cabinets. I then, because of the thought of not getting enough accuracy, imaging, detail etc, sold them and went on a 5 speaker foray into finding something that I could live with. I went through Magnepans, Theils, Totem Staaf (loved those) and ended up with Totem Model 1 signatures. The point here is that I should have kept the Chorus II's. They simply played everything I listened to well. All the other speakers mentioned above were quirkier. They were more finicky about room placement, type of music, associated electronics, cabling etc. The Klipsch's just sounded good, great in fact. All of my non-audiophile buddies think I'm crazy for going through so many speakers when I already had the Klipsch's. Don't get me wrong the Totem's sound is better, more accurate but in my estimation only by the thinnest of margins. Plus they don't play as loud, are harder to drive and are much more demanding on the source componetry and recording quality. I think the Chorus II's are the best all around speaker on the used market. My experience with them was excellent.

Strength:

Sound

Weakness:

Size -- they''re pretty ugly big black boxes -- but that''s what it takes to get the sound! They dominate my living room -- but that''s OK.

Amazing sound. I got ambushed by these Chorus II''s when I was looking for speakers. The clarity, definition, and separation found here is not to be believed. The speakers are never overworked or overpowered when the volume goes up; and they never lose that sweetness, clarity, and presence at the lowest whister of a volume level. R.I.P. Paul Klipsch -- you''re a mensch!

Weakness:

harsh at times

I had many speakers in the past 20 years.I listen to Rock and Metal most of the time. If i am going to listen to "THE WHO" i want to put them in my living room at CONCERT LEVEL!! They play beautiful at lower volumes also,,who needs a SUB!!!They have been moving and breaking all the stuff that my wife put on top of them, you cant hear the pictures breaking on the floor.Great lows when in a corner and nice mids and tweets, can be harsh with some recordings "horns"

These are one of the best sounding speakers I have ever heard. They give a level of clarity to music that sounds perfect to my ear. These are the first horn speakers that I have really listened to, but after reading the rest of the reviews for the chorus II on this sight and then seeing an ad on the internet that a guy that lived a few miles from my house was selling a pair I had to go check them out. I was very skeptical after hearing them, because they were in somebody else's house and the system they were being pushed with cost as much as a new car. After taking them home and pushing them with my crappy Kenwood I was in love. Also, when I used them in a home theater setup, even with my "crappy receiver", they blew me away. I actually thought that some of the movie noises coming out of the speaker were coming from another room in my house, because they sounded so real.
Anyway, I do not push too many items, because I don't get impressed that easily, but everytime I play something, through this set of speakers I got, I pat myself on the back for making the purchase.(I paid $725)

Strength:

Clarity, soundstage presentation, musical

Weakness:

Mid horn can be honky

I have become very pleased with my Chorus 2's. I have dampened the mid horn with some dynamat and they have become very smooth indeed. The clarity of these speakers is hard to beat. Female vocals are "in room". Excellent extension both top and bottom. With tight and accurate as key words on the bottom. I drive them with tubes and it is a match made in audio heaven. As far as I know, they are only available on the used market. This pair is circa 1989. Well worth searching out.

Strength:

Spectacular detail, power and range

Weakness:

None so far (They are huge, but I expected that)

Best sounding speakers I've heard. More detail than I've ever heard from my CDs - it feels like a voyage of discovery - like I'm listening to them for the first time! Enormous power, amazing detail, incredible range, truly beautiful sound. I'll never sell these.

Strength:

Outstanding sound reproduction.

Weakness:

Can be harsh with some amps.

The Klipsch Chorus II is a great speaker, which provides tremendous bass and crystal clear highs. Listening to them uncovers aspects of recordings that I've never heard before. They perform well with music and as home theater speakers.
I compared these to the Klipsch KG 5.5's two years ago, and they made the 5.5's sound quite muddled. For economic reasons, I eventually bought the 5.5's - and loved them. I now have acquired a used pair of Chorus II's, which I have combined with the 5.5's in the rear, a Klipsch KV-1 center speaker, and a Klipsch 300-watt sub.
Because they are so efficient, these speakers should be carefully tested with any potential system. The former owner of this pair thought they were too harsh with the Yamaha DSP-A1. However, he - and now I - had no problems with the Yamaha 992.
All in all, the Chorus II is an outstanding speaker.

Strength:

quality of consruction

Weakness:

very large and heavy

I bought these at Sound Advice. They give you 100% credit if you bring back your speakers in like new condition with the original box within a year of purchase. I started out with KG-4 s and worked my way up. I stopped at the Chorus because it is the best speaker available at any price. I,m not going to go on and on about how great they are like some of the other reviewers. One demo will say it all. If you ever have the chance to buy a pair you will have made the best purchase of your audiophile career. As for me I will never sell mine at any price so don't even ask.
