These are bookshelf speakers that have a 6 and a half inch woofer and a 1 inch horn tweeter.Pretty hefty for their size at 15 pounds each.Retail is about $180 each.Very nice for their size.Go pretty low for bookshelf speakers(about 50hz I believe).Used them as main speakers for about 8 months, and while the bass isn't all you could ask for the imaging and mid to high range were fantastic.Used them on Sanus System Sound Anchor stands(about $50-60).I think Klipsch has replaced these with a different model which I have not heard.I now use them for the rear channel, and they do quite well set as large speakers with the Yamaha RX-V992.

I've had these for a couple of years now. I really like them when used in conjunction with a powered subwoofer. They've been replaced by the monitor series, but after two years of running the speakers continuously, these things still sound great. I always notice how good they are compared to less expensive speakers and would say that they're definately better than any Bose speakers. They've got more bass than B&W bookshelves and have beautiful voice reproduction. But as I said earlier, you do need a powered subwoofer to listen to rap etc.

I have owned these speakers for about two years now, and I still think they sound better than anything at that size and price. They especially excel at bringing out the warmth in my jazz LP's, while the highs on a CD are well balanced and lifelike. The heft of these speakers is proof that there is some substance in the box, and a big magnet on the woofers that surely helps pull the response down to that low 50hz and high effeciency. Although the bass really kicks for a bookshelf, I am still looking at getting a powered subwoofer.

Strength:

Great sound from a small package and very affordable. The bass isn't too bad either. If you have some good speaker stands for these, they'll sound even better.

Weakness:

For the price, I don't see any weakness unless you want to use the speakers in a very large room.

Great sound at a great price
