Strength:

good quality, very detailed

Weakness:

none

These speakers are outstanding. Very lound and powerful speakers that are not as "bright" as others may think. The heavy weight of these speakers is a good indication to me that they are of a good quality. They also accent my living room nicely with the black wood finish.

Any ideas why my Yamaha HTR-5250 receiver cuts off after turning the volume up about half way? I am currently in the process of upgrading my (Radio Shack) speaker cables with AudioQuest Slate speaker cables. I am hoping it will solve this problem.

Strength:

crystal clear sound

Weakness:

they need a large room for proper placement

I've had a blast going through my cd collection since I bought them (BRYN MAWR- $800 pr.).I've seen were people say a sub isn't needed with the 20's,I plan on adding a sub some time in the future. They can bring out incredible detail and I don't think I've heard a better speaker for live recordings.

Strength:

Clear midrange, bass deep enough that a subwoofer is not necessary

Weakness:

Very heavy speaker

These speakers are great for a price around $1000 mail order. They need some breaking in but at a few hours you will see the results. Comes in various finishes if you hate black like me.

Strength:

Very efficient, handles all music and movies well. Plenty of bass. Look good.

Weakness:

It is the best set of speakers I have ever purchased. I have been buying audio equipment for over 30 years. I think they are well worth the money. I have never regretted them.
I don't think I will need to upgrade speakers for a long time.

Strength:

Efficiency, Incredible Sound.

Weakness:

Incredibly Heavy, A little bit harsh with average mainstream recordings.

I purchased these speakers about 45 days ago, and all I can say is they sound unbelievable. Some would say that horns can be a little harsh and bright, this is only noticable on some poorly mastered mainstream recordings. For the most part part these speakers are as smooth as any out there. Just try a good Telarc recording with these, they are amazing. For HT use they are unbeatable. I also got the C-7 center channel. These speakers sound better than many costing twice as much, they are an excellent value considering what they can do in comparison to others in this price range. It's hard to say anything that has not been said in the following reviews.

Strength:

smoother sounding than Klipsch KLF 10's

Weakness:

very heavy speaker

I have had these for a few weeks and I am quite please with the sound. They do need to be broken in. It doesn't take much power to make these babys shine!! Anyone who wants a nice monitor type speaker with a great finish(nedium oak) should invest in a pair. I got mine through Sound Approach in NY state. Good listening!

Sound Reproduction/Clarity/Price

Weakness:

Extremely Heavy

I am so impressed! Even over time I cannot shake my enthusiasm. I moved out of industries that allowed me to play with very good and extremely expensive reference type speakers and into a paying career. As Joe consumer I could not afford such luxuries as I worked with as a wage slave. It was best for the long run personally.

I spent eight years looking for a suitable replacement and biding my time until I was happy with the technology to price curve. The KLF-20 is not a reference monitor, nor would I make that claim, but the sound reproduced for the high-end consumer market and home theater applications is way ahead of the curve.

Please read many of the reviews below (sans the Jensen fan) for tips about setup. The hours invested in placement are critical to your enjoyment. This time is necessary with ALL speakers. We do not live in listening rooms designed to showcase audio products. All of the advice is valid and will make you even more thrilled with these speakers.

I recommend listening to your top 3 favorite albums when auditioning. From there listen to at least one blues, jazz and classical track (hopefully you can become familiar with each piece prior to the audition). You will hear depth, clarity, and a sound stage that should not exist in a speaker at this price point. Shortly after this, you will gladly separate a sizable amount of money (for the average consumer) in exchange for the privilege of a hernia (these master pieces are so very heavy).

I know other reviewers have pounded on the efficiency of the speaker and it is true. I am under powering the speakers with no noticeable audio effects. They are clear and accurate.

At this point you should stop reading and go buy some of your own.

Strength:

Excellent bass, great imaging, super high efficiency

Weakness:

Large

System:
KLF-20 - front, KSF-S5 - rear, KSC-C1 - center, Yamaha - RX-V2095 Receiver, Toshiba - SD-3109 DVD Player, optical connections & Monster wire

In a word - spectacular. Clean sound, deep bass, excellent imaging. The only issue I've noticed is that in the smaller size room I have them in (15x20) and with the 100W per channel, they will easily get louder than I can tolerate. (Is this really a problem?!?!) The horn drivers will NOT give up at higher SPLs and can start to sound harsh in the small space. Its not noticable with clean source material but your typically standard release stuff has enough problems at the high end and these speakers will really show it.

When I was auditioning speakers/amps, I was looking for clarity and balanced response. I found it.

THE REVIEWS REALLY TELL THE STORY ON THESE SPEAKERS. I REALLY HAD NO BUDGET CAP FOR SETTING UP MY SYSTEM. AT ABOUT 6400.00 RITE NOW.
SO I COULD CHOOSE ALMOST ANY SPEAKERS.I LIKE THE HORNS ON THESE, SOME PEOPLE CLAIM THAT THE KLF 20'S ARE TOO BRIGHT.I HAVE FOUND THAT THE CORRECT CABLES BETWEEN YOUR AMP OR REICIEVER TO C.D. PLAYER ETC. CAN REALLY MAKE A HUGE DIFFERANCE. ALOT OF EXPERIMENTING TOOK PLACE TO FIND THE PERFECT BLEND.WHAT REALLY ICED THE CAKE WAS WHEN I PURCHASED THE C-7 CENTER CHANNEL SPEAKER.THIS SPEAKER IS PERFECTLLY MATCHED FOR THE KLF 20'S..AND IS F-----N HUGE.I CAN ALSO TELL YOU THAT THESE SPEAKERS SOUND BETTER WITH A SUB WOOFWER OR TWO. YOU COULD GET AWAY WITH OUT ONE BUT THEY ARE RITE ON THE THRESHOLD OF THE FREQ.RESPONSE WHERE A SUB CAN ONLY HELP.
MY FINAL COMMENT IF YOU CAN SPEND IS ABOUT 1000.00 FOR THE TWO MAIN SPEAKERS.THEN THE HECK WITH TRYING EM JUST BUY EM.
