Strength:
Dynamics, low level resolution, pinpoint sound stage, price performance ratio.
Weakness:
Wish it could play the last bottom octave. I have owned many KLIPSCH products in the past. I even owned some KLIPSCHORN's. I currently have Lascala's and I love them. Rather than sell them to purchase another klipsch product I boxed them up and stored them in an extra room. I made that mistake with the k-horns, never again! My needs shifted to a speaker with a smaller footprint, so I auditioned the KLF30's. I must say that I was shocked after I set them up and sat down for some serious listening. They resolve absolutely every detail, and reveal poorly engineered recording mercilessly,in other words "garbage in garbage out". The imaging is stable at all volume levels. I actually waited until it was dark turned of the lights and put in some sheffield labs reference recordings to tests their ability without any distractions. They have depth, height, width, simply wonderful. Some high end speakers I have listened to in the past constrict he sounstage at hi volume levels and loose resolution at low levels. The KLF30's stood there and said "is that all you got" So I put in The GREAT FANTASY ADVENTURE ALBUM from TELARC. This disc is considered a torture test for any speaker. It even comes with a warning. Played track 21 jurassic lunch and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.I have rarely experienced a reaction like this. Hands down one of the best products KLIPSCH has ever put out, outside the HERITAGE line. If space is a consideration but performance is not, run don't walk and audition these speakers. You will be glad you did. Similar Products Used: None only interested in KLIPSCH products. Hi my name is Nelson and I am a KLIPSCHAHOLIC. HI NELSON!!!!!! |

Big, Dynamics, High SPL's Very good speaker to me. Mine have plenty of mid-range. Can be bright, but I like that. Everyone has their own thing. I listened to them briefly before purchasing, sounded fine so I bought. Also have the KLF-20's, and C-7. Their BIG footprint was what won me. |

Strength:
Reproduces vocals ACCURATELY
Weakness:
Reproduces vocals ACCURATELY! (i.e, if fed by junk, junk is what you will hear) First of all, if you are a salami-whacker and playing nothing but bass-track techno music and the like, move on, this is not your cup of tea. If your life is centered around rattling windows with Dark Side of the Moon - wrong speaker for you. Similar Products Used: Magnepan, JBL, Dalhquist, KLH, Cizek, Sonus |

Strength:
Impressive stance, lack of distortion at almost ANY volume level, DETAILED SOUND!!!
Weakness:
A bit heavy, cabinet construction could be better. After a bunch of research, it looked to me like the KLF 30's fit the bill as to what I was looking for as a speaker upgrade, so I did the first stupid thing, and bid on a pair of demo's on Ebay without having first listened to them (I have no Klipsch dealers nearby)...After the auction closed, I had the opportunity to audition a pair in Chicago, and almost cried all the way home - these speakers were a total letdown, very shrill, with muddy, sloppy bass...The KLF 20's had really impressed me but alas, I already had a pair of 30's on the way, so I bit the bullet and waited for them to arrive....Well they did, and immediately I noticed that they really DID sound better in a real-life environment - SPL-wise they exceeded my wildest dreams when hooked up to my Adcom GFA545II, and given the fact that I have 2 very tight 15" subwoofers running with my system, well maybe they weren't so bad after all! Perhaps the bass could be a bit tighter to compliment the sub's lows, and I was a bit disappointed at a seeming lack of midrange...However, a week later my Carver TFM25 amp showed up (225W@8ohms) and once wired into place, WHAM - There was that midrange, and it suddenly sounded like someone took a torque wrench to the bass - These babies are everything I ever wanted them to be and MORE! (I've even had to back off the gain on my sub amp or it just turns into too much bass!) - Everything from Steely Dan to Metallica sounds completely ALIVE with this speaker/amp combo, acoustic music is a whole new thrill....WOW! Other than having to keep a light hand on the throttle to avoid permanent hearing loss, these speakers perform wonderfully with anything I throw at them. As a recommendation, I would say that even though their extreme sensitivity allows these to sound loud with very little power, if you plan on running these with a smaller amp or reciever you very likely won't experience their true potential, also keep in mind that they seem (to me, at least) to be a fairly "directional" speaker, so make sure you have a large enough listening space or you'll end up with them toed in pretty extremely (and you don't want to sit 6 feet in front of these things for long!)...Keep in mind my ears may be different from yours, but either way I really dig these speakers! Also, being discontinued, I have seen a lot of places closing them out at approximately $1000/pr, you can wait for the price to come down more if you dare but don't wait until they're all gone or you'll regret it! 5* value, 5* overall (with the right components) Similar Products Used: OHM, Cerwin-Vega, Micron monitor 160, etc |

Strength:
Suberb clarity and sharpness. Great viceral feel. Bach's Organ works and Billy Joel's Piano give you the feeling that this is not a recording.... This is LIVE!
Weakness:
A little bright at times. Nothing that you can not E.Q. out as needed. They are large and heavy. Not a problem for me but you should make room. Also, very directional imaging. Positioning is cruicial for these towers. It is a shame that a retailer can make it so hard to obtain such a great speaker. I almost always have buyers remorse after I buy audio components. Not this time! These speakers let me listen to a huge variety of music (Bach to Rock, Techno to Fusion.) They continue to impress. The louder they are played the more they respond as if they are saying "is that all you have?" The only shortcoming was the arrogance of the retailer. Full of attitude, lack of knowledge and price games.... These speakers were worth the agony of the having to deal with a Pompas Ass (How is that for an endorsment). Great towers, Great Sound, Nice finish. Similar Products Used: Wharfdale E-series, Thiel, Bose, Dhalquist |

Strength:
Extremely sensitive, large soundstage, deep bass
Weakness:
can be bright with poor recordings, hard to experiment with position because of size and weight I have owned the Klf-30s for about 2 years. I am just as pleased now as I was then with my purchase. They were one of the first components I purchased in the continuing process of building a home theater/audio system. Before buying them I auditioned other floor standing speakers from Paradigm, Tannoy, Nht, Jamo, DCM, Energy, Infinity and a few others. The klipsch were my favorite. Since buying them I have had a chance to audition many other speakers in my ongoing quest to build my system. I have listened to Definitive Technology, Kef plus a few more I can't remember. Well, the Klipsch speakers are still my speaker of choice. The combination of dynamic range, soundstage and enormous sound has won me over. Granted, they are not for everybody, since horns tend to irritate some people, but I love the sound. |

Well I have finally done what I have been wanting to do for many, many years.I have bought my first pair of Klipsch.I have traveled to my local Klipsch dealer for over 15 years and have listened to many different models.I liked the sound of the KLF 20s,but when the salesman connected the KLF 30s up to the same amp so that I could do a A-B test, the 30s had a better low end and for the difference of 300 dollars I felt this was the better of the two. I hooked these up to my system, put in a cd,and music like I have never heard or experienced in my 20x22 familyroom. We had guests over that night and everyone fell in love with the Klipsch. These speakers bring out every detail on a cd,good recordings sound better-poorly recorded cds might sound worse. The salesman told me that the speakers will sound better once they are broken in;cant imagine them getting any better. |

Strength:
Brute strength!! Great sound for music and movies
Weakness:
None unless you are wimpy These speakers are just incredibly realistic as far as live music goes and they go very low for home theatre I really don't need to turn on my subwoofer. J&R is blowing these out at 499.99 each. I got them delivered for 1150.00 from my guy Todd. Give him a call @ 800 221 8180 ext 1039 he's GREAT. The speakers are not even broken in yet and I'm tickled silly. At this price it's a no brainer. Similar Products Used: NHT, DEFINITIVE TECHNOLOGY |
