Strength:

THE BEST CENTER CHANNEL FOR THE MONEY. AMAZING HOW GREAT THIS CENTER SOUND PLAYING LETHAL WEAPON 4. THE SOUND EFFECTS ARE EXCELLENT.

Weakness:

NONE

I HAVE ALL KLIPSHE SET UP...RUNNING KLF30 FOR MAINS. I HAD M&K SPEAKERS AND WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED. THEY WERE THX CERTIFIED AND SOUND LIKE CRAP COMPARED TO KLIPSCHE. SO I SOLD THEM AND TOOK A BIG LOSS. KLIPSCH ARE THE BEST IN THE SPEAKER BUSINESS. STAY AWAY FROM M&K!!!

The KLF-C7 is a center channel speaker timbre matched for use with the Klipsch "Legend" series. It has dual 8" woofers in a sealed enclosure (acoustic suspension design), and a Tractrix horn (medium size horn approximately 10"x6.5"measured edge to edge). The woofer cones appear to be made of the same material use in the Legend KLF-10, KLF-20, and KLF-30, though these speakers all have larger drivers. The horn assembly is apparently the same as that used in the KLF-10, the smaller speaker in the series. The speakers is very efficient (99db per watt) and therefore works very well other Klipsch speakers requiring only a few db adjustment to balance volume.

Be warned, the KLF-C7 is large and heavy. At 27x11x9 it is relatively large. At 38lbs it is heavy enough that it causes the top of my RPTV to indent slightly. It comes with 2 leveling spikes/posts that can be used in the front, or the rear to lift the front (if used in front and below the TV) or lift the rear (if if used on top of a tall tv). The spikes can be turned over and used as leveling posts with the included rubber feet.

I am using the CF7 with a pair of Klipsch Chorus IIs because at the time I bought the Chorus IIs there was no good matching center channel speaker available. Though not a perfect match (the woofers are different), the Legend line is a continuation of the Heritage line that included the Forte II, and Chorus II. The CF7 timbre matches with the horns in my Chorus IIs very well, and has similar efficiency rating. It is also the only center channel speaker I have heard that can keep up with the Chorus IIs. Smaller center channel speakers (including the KV3) sound like small boxes trying to play music. The CF7 pretty much disappears and there is just a huge, dynamic sound stage.

Voices sound pretty much like they do at the movies when played at movie theatre volumes. Mostly open, and effortless, but sometimes (rarely) can be
a little harsh or tubby. I have heard voices become overbearing at movie theaters too so I don't know what to make of it other than it seems to be reproducing what is in the sound tracks accurately. At quieter levels I most often forget I am listening to a speaker.

A couple of other notes. Bandwidth is limited to 75-20Khz. This is not a full range speakers despite its large size. You'll need to set it to a SMALL center chanel speaker and redirect bass to your mains or subwoofer.

It is a horn system. It requires smooth sounding electronics to sound good.
This speakers is extremely revealing of details, and dynamics.

I just bought mine a couple of days ago and have been very impressed with the sound quality. I am using it with KG5.5's mains, Kg2.5 surrounds and a sw10II. it mates well and looks good too. I havent noticed the top of my tv giving in to the weight yet but it is definately very heavy. the dialog has been excellent. there is a definate improvement over my kV3.

This is in response to my first post 3 reviews down. I thought I had given the overall rating 5 Stars but something wacky must have happened, because it ended up with 3. That was my first review and it happened to come on a piece of equipment that had perfect scores on over 30 reviews...and I ruined it. If there are moderators out here, could you please change that review to 5 stars?

Strength:

Efficiency, Gobs of Power, Massive and Beautiful

Weakness:

Huge for a Center!

I have only had this piece for less then a week but I absolutely love it! I went with the C7 to match up (as close as possible) with my Epic CF-2's. All I can say is "WOW!" Anyone who currently owns the Epics, should seriously consider the C7 for their Center. They won't be disappointed!

Unbelivable difference between this center channel and my previous Klipsch KSC-C1 center. The C7 center leaves the KSC-C1 in the dust. Now I can actually hear everything very clearly even if I turn up the volume at references level. Worth every penny. Go out and get one if you're using the KLF30, you won't be dissapointed.

I have to say sounddistributors.com came through in a major way, without the great price I got from them I wouldn't of bought this center.

I'm using a Denon 3801
mains KLF30's
4 rears quintet.

Strength:

I believe this is the best match for my system

Weakness:

It is bigger than my TV! That means TV needs to be changed!!!

The best match for my front FORTE's and RS3 surrounds. DENON 3801 drives them all beautifully. I do not know how to describe the awsomeness of this setup, the speaker is great. If you want to have a balanced match for existing Klipsch, there is nothing better on my opinion. If you are building from scratch, you have to go Klipsch all the way.
Highly recommend it.
