Strength:

Clear sound, decent lows, sound great at any level, have these an fronts, an 1.1 as rear. I know they are old but for 50 for both sets, in the original box was a no brainer!

Weakness:

They are bright but, with 3 powered subs, an some ls 12 Vegas bass is not an issue

Strength:

Clarity especially on high end

Weakness:

No low end to speak of, and limited directionality of sound

I had purchased the Klipsch Quintets, but immediately discovered they couldnt fill my 25' by 25' listening space.. The KSB 2.1's in conjunction with 2 KSW-10 Subs made all the difference. --especially with home theater and HDTV applications. These speakers are bright, clear, but a little weak on the bottom end (subs take care of that). Best Monitors I've owned.

Strength:

Clear, sharp sound. Quality of product and price. Gold connections on the back. Unique rosewood color available.

Weakness:

None.

After going to all the crappy stores in my area, (Best Buy, Circuit City, Sears, Etc...) I thought the best I could do was the Bose 201 IV's. (For the size and price I was seeking.) So I ordered 2 pairs from Tatum Electronics. (DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! AFTER 18 DAYS, THEY NEVER GOT AROUND TO SENDING MY ORDER.) While I was waiting for the Bose speakers to come in, I came to this site and was shocked at all the Bose bashers lurking about. This made me second guess my decision as I kept seeing the names Klipsch, B&W, and NHT as superior options to the Bose.

So after my fingers did some walking, I found three different stores in my area that each carried one brand name each. So I went and listened to the NHT's and was not blown away. I'm kind of glad too because they would have run me like $1,000. Next I went and looked at the Klipsch and I couldn't believe how good they sounded! BrandSmart (the store I was at) did not have the 2.1's. All I had to listen to were the 1.1's, and the 3.1's. I figured that as well as the 1.1's sounded, the 2.1's would probably sound even better. I was 100% correct! (I never did go see the B&W's.)

I picked 2 of these up off uBid for $67 each!

I had a pair of Optimus LX5 II's installed with the intent of returning them. I thought they sounded okay while I had them up and running. When I brought the 2.1's home, I hooked one up on the right first, and left the Optimus on the Left. I couldn't believe the difference! The first thing I noticed was how much louder the Klipsch was. The second thing I noticed was that the only thing I could hear out of the LX5 was the voice! There was almost no "music" with the voice! All the instruments were loud and clear on the Klipsch! All I can say is WOW! They have discontinued this model. I have no idea why. uBid sells them pretty regularly right now so get these speakers while you can!. I also "won" a pair of Klipsch KSF-S5's for the rear speakers, and I'm buying a KSF-C5 speaker for my center channel. My current Optimus center does not come close to matching the sound of the Klipsch! I hear the "surround" effects louder than the voice dialog! I'll fix that soon enough!

Strength:

Very clean sound and great power handling. Sounds great with little power.

Weakness:

None found yet

I live in a fraternity where some kids just have too much money. I have heard several brands of speaker including polk, bose, MTX, and others. My Klipsch speakers not only sound better than all ther rest but simply puts the rest to shame (especially the bose). I also get lots of comliments on the styling. This is the system that I am using:

Reciever: Harman Kardon AVR20mkII (soon to be AVR35 or 45)
CD Player: Sony CDP225
Speakers: Klipsch ksb2.1
Sub: Rockford Fosgate punch in a TL encolsure
Sub amp: Parapix from Apex Jr.

This setup is very sweet for a college kid on a budget. Lots of sound for a small price.

Strength:

Very bright, accurate, and clear.

Weakness:

Moderate bass, but that's why I have a sub.

I have had these speakers for about 7 months. I could not be more pleased. I use them for music as well as home theatre. For music re-creation, they are superb. They are very accurate and scream out the highs, which I really like. For home theatre, I use them with a Klipsch SC.5 center channel and an Atlantic Technology 62PBM sub. and they are fantastic. I would recommend these speakers to anyone wanting a high quality pair of mains at a great price. You might be able to still get a pair on e-bay.

Strength:

LOUD and efficient!

Weakness:

Need a sub

These speakers are fabuous for the money, no doubt about it. I have never heard a two-way speaker get so much sound and such a high volume off of 70 watts per channel with such clarity. Definitely the best deal around for bookshelf speakers!

Strength:

Powerful, clear and sharp...

Weakness:

not alot of oomph on the base, but that's what my sub is for

I just started my first home theater and living in an apt. I had to get something good for the $$$ but also good for when moving into a house. My dad handed down to me some Technics (they had tweets, midrange & 12" sub) and I thought wow these are great (didn't have much to compare to). When I decided to go all out on my home theater (w/ tight budget) I needed advice. That's when this website came in handy. After reading the reviews of Klipsch I knew I had to get a pair and sure enough I found a great deal on the 2.1s and I love 'em. They are so sharp and clean and powerful. Watching Matrix again was a whole new experience. The details they put out were awesome. They are a definate must.
I've gotten rid of my old speakers and decided to go all Klipsch. I've been finding good deals left and right for everything else except all I'm lacking now is a matching center channel. Know a good place? Here's my setup (remember, a beginner's 1st home theater all came out to $1069):
Sherwood 8090R
Pioneer DV-414 DVD
Klipsch KSB 2.1 (fronts)
Klipsch Quintets (rears)
Velodyne 12" Sub
Kenwood Center (its ok but I need something better now)
RCA 32" TV

Strength:

Awesome clear highs, very loud on a weak amp

These speakers are simply incredible for the price I got them for (2 pairs at $150 per pair on ubid). I have a POS pioneer amp, it is pretty much worthless.. but these speakers still sound incredible. The amount of bass they put out for being so small is awesome too. I replaced some bigass 3 ways that had 10" woofers and these sound so much better with more defined bass than the 10's! Try out these along with a subwoofer and a nice amp and I'm sure you'll have a setup that cannot be beat for the price. They sound best with songs that use quick crisp sounds and voices sound like someone is singing live with these! I highly recomend them on both price and quality.

Strength:

Great value, somewhat compact size, natural sound, clear hi-mid and low, very very efficient

Weakness:

upper range of sound is too crisp, sometimes.

Infinity RS3 didn't stand a chance.
I run these fellas on Nak AV-8 and the imaging is superb! Realistically speaking, the quality (clarity, efficiency, imaging) is awesome on every aspect.
Not bad for the money, and comparable to the big dogs (NHT, DynAudio)..Infinity and Bose didn't even come close!
The upper range annoy me a bit, too crisp? maybe my ears are not used to the Tractix Horn yet.
