Strength:
exceptional clarity, great mids and highs
Weakness:
a little bright, but I knew they would be I bought the KSB 2.1's because I had enough of the poor mid and high reproduction from my Bose speakers. I am not a Bose basher at all. In fact, the 201s were very good small room bookshelf speakers for the price that I paid ($80 used), but after buying Quintets for my surrounds and hearing their clarity, I had to replace my fronts with klipschs. After about a month, I am finally used to the difference in "brightness" with the 2.1's and am very happy with my purchase. Their clarity is amazing. I probably wouldn't recommend them without a sub, which I would with the 201's, but I like my bass. Similar Products Used: Bose 201 III, Klipsch Quintets |

Strength:
good background speakers
Weakness:
finish Really a question; are you certain that the model is KSB 2.1 and not KSB 3.1? I use a set of KSB 3.1 in my office for light background sound. Great sound for the size speaker that they are. Similar Products Used: n/a (small speakers) |

Finally ! after extensive listening i selected the klipsch ksb2.1 . i auditioned the infinity rs3 , paradigm titan , jbl hls 810 , and polk rt35. i wanted to listen to the energy e:xl 16 but no one in my area carried them. this speaker is for a musical upgrade to an aiwa nsx-mt960 mini theater. i wanted a highly efficient 8 ohm speaker that performed well musically and wasn't overly expensive. the aiwa mini-theater is 145w/channel at 6 ohms so about 70w/channel at 8 ohms. the closest competitor was the klipsch ksb3.1 but i selected the 2.1 due to the fact that i have a powered sub to bring out the bass. this speaker sounds very , very good.it has good imaging and detail and plays rock/alternative music excellent. i opted to buy locally for $ 242./pair VS. $ 226./pair(non-member) from shop4.com . the horn sound isn't for everyone but for me it was the best choice.this speaker brings out the best in a inexpensive mini-theater system. give them a listen. |

N/A I needed a pair of small speakers to be wall mounted in my billiard room (22' X 18') for music and these guys worked out great. I am using them along with a 10" PSB sub, and if you close your eyes, you would bet that you are not listening to a pair of 6.5" drivers. These guys are great for a lot of LOAD music, and they handle the volume compared to other models I tested in the same retail price range. I giving them a 5 overall, since you can get them for under $235 delivered on average. Similar Products Used: Boston's, PSB, Polk |

I recently puchased a pair of 2.1's after comparing them with similarly priced bookshelfs from Bose (the worst of the bunch), Mirage (not much better), NHT, Polk, Boston Acoustics and B&W. The Bostons (more bass than the Klipsch) and Polks (more piercing treble) were both great speakers. I almost chose B&W 601 S2's over the Klipsch but eventually chose the 2.1's because they were more suited for my tastes of music (Classic Rock and Heavy Metal). The 2.1's have wonderful clarity in the midrange and highs. They lack a little bass, but what speakers this size don't. When I can, I plan to add a subwoofer to balance that out. If anyone has any suggestions for a subwoofer that suits the 2.1's please e-mail me. I highly recommend these speakers to anyone. |

Strength:
Wonderfull sonic immensity, perfect seperation, great imaging in a small package.....how do they do it??
Weakness:
None really considering their size....best used with a subwoofer These are really fabulous speakers for music and AV. I am a musician and listen to recorded and live music daily. I am very pleased with these little guys and wonder how the great people at Klipsch have pulled this one off. If you do not plan to use a subwoofer and you like a lot of deep bass then go to a KSF 8.5. I believe in the theory of separating the mids from the base and prefer them to be in different cabinets, this makes the separation characteristics much much better. Isolation is the key to great sound. Next time you are at a concert notice the stacks, the bass, mid cabinets, and high horns are all in separate cabinets. My advice is to go to vanns.com and buy some of these things asap(no I do not work for Vanns) Thanks everybody...great board!!! Similar Products Used: Bose, CV |

Strength:
Great sound output! Crystal clear highs and distinguishable lows! The price is excellent! I have had no problems with them in the last 2 and a half years.
Weakness:
NONE! An excelent speaker, if you match it with other Klipsch like I did, they are stupendous! I buy all of my equipment at Lake Charles music along with this fine set of speakers! Buy them if you haven't already because I am sure that with a name like Klipsch, you will be listening to an unsurpassed sound quality for years to come! And with a powerful enough amplifier, so will the neighbors! Similar Products Used: KSB-1.1, KSC-SC1, & a KSW-50 Subwoofer |

weak bass; muddy at higher volume, No banana plug jack, plastic housing. Put the KSB 2.1's up against a pair of BIC DV62si's and hear it for yourself. The BIC's are about 1/2 the price on UBid, they are about the same size, and they are exponentially better than the Klipsch 2.1's. On a H/K 50 watt receiver, you can really hear (and feel) a big difference. Similar Products Used: BIC, JBL, Polk, Infinity |

Impressive sound for such a small box
Weakness:
Finding Speaker stands While working in a high-end stereo store I was fortunate enough to not only listen to, but to compare with equal everything the highest end Bose and the Klipsch. I thought I would wait a while before purchasing my own system so I could get a feel for the two. There was absolutely no waiting involved; I knew which was better right away. When the Bose representative left to go home early for the day (which was quite often) it was a free for all on his system. I would hook up the comparable speakers to the same receiver via speaker selector boxes, and I would just laugh. People would come in and I would do comparisons for them. Needless to say of all the 80 people that got to hear the difference walked out at night with Klipsch in hand. The one that didn’t had a Bose center, and a wife that told him not twice but three times that the Bose would look better on top of the T.V. When she was gone he later nudged me and agreed the Klipsch sounded better. One further note, when I hooked the two center speakers up to compare (originally the Bose center speaker was not hooked up to the Bose system) there laid the biggest difference in the sound quality. The best way to describe the two differences would be to imagine a 5-gallon bucket of water! Now imagine that Bose center speaker submerged in that 5-gallon bucket of water. That is the difference. And I was only comparing it to the Klipsch C-1 (one of the lowest end centers). Now I know why the Bose guy didn’t hook up his center, and also he would never let me have my system on when his was playing. Similar Products Used: All Klipsch Baby |
