Strength:

Fantastic sound from a speaker this size.

Weakness:

None

These speakers are fantastic! You won't find a better sounding speaker this size for this price. I used these to replace my 15 year old Pioneer floor speakers, and what a difference! Those huge Pioneers never sounded this good even when they were brand new. My wife wanted something smaller, and I wanted great sound - and these speakers do not dissappoint!

These speakers put out the deepest, richest sound for a speaker their size. I listened to Boston, B&W, MK, but none in this size and price range could compare to the full range sound of the KSB's. As an example, I was at the dealer's shop and another salesperson was demoing the 3.1's for a customer through a Yamaha receiver. The customer asked that the salesperson turn off the subwoofer so that he could hear the 3.1's by themselves. The salesperson told him (and I already knew), there isn't any subwoofer on - that is just the 3.1's. That's how good they are!

The only potential weakness (and this is not really a weakness on the speaker's part) would be if you have them hooked up to receiver that is already bright, then the Klipsch's horn tweeters can make the sound even brighter. Otherwise, they can't be beat. I am even thinking about using the KSB 2.1's as my surrounds. For $200/each or less, get the 3.1's and you can save some money to use for other components. You won't be disappointed!

I have had my Klipsch KSB 3.1's for about a week now and so far I have been very pleased. I compared these speakers to a pair of Boston CR-9's and B&W 602's. I was planing to purchace the B&W's that I had looked at 5 weeks ago but to my disapointment the store closed down and I was left with no where to buy these speakers with ease. So out of curosity I looked at another store and found the Klipch and Boston's. I found I liked the Klipsch alot better than the Boston's but I was in no way sure how they sounded compared to the B&W because I had not heard the B&W's for over a month. So I took a chance on the Klipsch in part due to their much lower price tag which was alot more in my price range. I have found these speakers to be great. The highs are great and the lows are solid. The most noticeable thing about these speakers that I found was the great imaging but you must be right in the middle to or else the imaging sucks. I am going to try and spread the speakers out father to try and fix this problem. I have also noticed that they are great for home theater and are also fairly good with music. Over all I think they are a great speaker that will meet my home theater and music needs. For the store price $440 I give them 4 stars but with that low $270 online price it is a easy 5 stars.

Strength:

These speakers are a big bang for the buck. They fit precisely with my surround system especially my center sc-1 from Klipsch.

Weakness:

A little bright with the horn, but blended with a subwoofer they are superb sounding.

These speakers have become an integral part of my home theater. Which includes the KSB 3.1 in the front, followed by the Klipsch SC-1 center, with Klipsch KG .5 in the rear, and a Polk audio 180 watt 10 inch down firing subwoofer. Powered by a Sony STR 830(bridge series). Of course we all need the monster cable all around. These speakers have completed my package if you read this review and get a pair you'll be pleased.

Strength:

Big sound, effecient.

I like these speakers. They have the typical Klipsch sound - very punchy and clear with a crisp high end. Bass is also very good for such a small speaker. When I compared these to similarly priced bookshelves, they sounded livelier and more effortless. Other speakers sounded too laid back and restrained, even muffled in comparison.

I'm using them as my surrounds now. I had them as mains for a while, but my room is pretty big and they couldn't quite fill it with sound the way larger towers can.

For small to medium sized rooms, or as surrounds, these speakers would be tough to beat for the price.

Strength:

Big bass for bookshelf speaker! Tweeter Horn rocks!

Weakness:

NONE

These are awesome speakers. They sounds excellent on the radio and in a home theater also. Also they can handle all the power a receiver wants to give them. Horn is very clear and extremely loud.
