Strength:

- Overall aesthetics
- Horns can reproduce the human voice so wonderfully
- Bass is incredible - Frequency 37Hz to 20kHz
- Sensitive - 98db @ 1watt/1metre - so they sound great at low volume

Weakness:

All my friends want to steal them from me because they're so awesome

These speakers rock!!!

The bass is tight and accurate, sound stage is incredible. They sound better and better as you turn the volume up, all my neighbours complain because all they can hear are my beautiful RF-3's hammering on their walls. As soon as i cranked them up for the first time i felt my life had just changed for ever.

Once i had a buddy, he bought the same speakers for his place and man o man was i ever hooked. my buddies buddy went and got them too. They call my one buddy "klipschter" and he does this little Jig like dance as they call him it.

For listening to gangster rap nothing sounds as good as the mighty klipshes do.

CHICKS DIG EM!!!

Bought these as rears for a system consisting of klf20 mains and klf7 center. These speakers ca hold their own as mains. After owning an assortment of equipment over the last 15 years, I can honestly say that Klipsch will be my first choice from here on out. I have not been disappointed in any Klipsch purchase. Excellent customer service and product. I know, I sound like a Klipsch cult member, but what an excellent product.

Strength:

Clear highs at very high volumes, bass is tight and low, massive rear ports, bi-amp, bi-wire capable

Weakness:

cheap grilles, huge boxes, heavy

My fist purchase was the synergy sf2's. They sounded great and the bass was great. After about 50hrs i decided to turn them up louder than listening pleasure. They handled the power but they did not sound stable. The next month i returned them and stepped up to the RF3's. These speakers rock. I have yet to find out their capabilities nor do i wish to. I have recently bought a paradigm PDR12 subwoofer. The klipschs do not even need the help of the sub. The only time I use the sub is for DVDs. For those purchasing speakers, do not buy a cheap bose system or some other small speaker big sub system. Get nice size main speakers and a decent sub. For music to DVDs you will not regret the sound.

VERY efficient, crisp, good bass output

Weakness:

after having the rc-3 center speaker that i was so impressed with, i finally purchased the matching rf-3 fronts. the only thing i could do was laugh with amazement. if i was a dog, i would probably be running around my living room in circles as if my owner just came home. normally, as in other reviews i submitted, i would write a story. for this review i'm just going to say that this speaker set is totally worth every cent. the highs are crisp and the bass.....well i thought i still had my sub-woofer on. as far as vocals and dialogue.....sounds like i'm standing in front of whoever is speaking or singing. i hope this sums it up.

Strength:

Incredible highs and great bass...very clear. It sounds very good at high volumes and does not distort!

Weakness:

none that I can find

I set out to find the perfect sounding speakers for high volumes and music. First I stopped in tweeter after reviewing some comments on the boston accoustic speakers. When I listened to the VR940 and 950's I really was not impressed at all. For $700 a pair they were just ordinary. I then went to circuit city and listened to the polk RT600's. They sounded muddy and not very clear. I then asked to listen to the Infinity I30's. At first I liked them and was impressed with them. I was set to purchase them for $600 a pair. On my way to purchase them I decided to stop in Tweeter again and listen to the Bostons one more time. The dealer then had me listen to to Klipsch RF3's. When I heard them I was sold. They gave out the perfect mix of bass and highs without being too bright. The tweeter horns were much more efficient than the dome style tweeters. I did go back and listen to the infinity's and I noticed something that most will not notice until you get them home and play them for an extended amount of time. Their highs are VERY bright. That's all you really hear. Their really is not any bass that comes out of them. After refusing to pay $800 a pair for the klipsch speakers I went home and reviewed some sites. Two sites offered me excellent prices on the RF3's. www.brandnamez.com had them for $579 shipped while sounddistributors had them for $600 shipped. Brandnamez does not back any manufacturers warranty's so I decided to spend an extra $21. If you want them from this site act quick cause they are not doing mail orders for klipsch after they sell what they have in stock. My final word....get these speakers! (and don't spend $800/pr for them!)

My system:

Sony STR-DE 945 Receiver
Klipsch RF3 tower speakers (front)
Klipsch RC3 center channel
Sony SA-WM40 Subwoofer
Panasonic DVD-A120 DVD player
Sony Trinitron 27" flat screen
Monster cable S-video

Strength:

Very musical, very dynamic and constantly makes you forget there is a pair of speakers in front of you.
pair of speakers in front of you.

Weakness:

The sound is coulored quite a bit but that is the flip-side
of the previously mentioned strenghts.

Actually I never bought these babies but that is due to the
extreme price differences on certain speakers in US/Europe.
Instead I bought a pair of Dynaudio Audience 70´s new in a
store for 799$(exluded Vat). But I relly want the RF-3´s too.

So 5 stars on both Value and overall IF I could have bought them in the US.

excellent sound and soundstage, efficency

it has just been over a month since owning these speaks. well i just wanted to clear up matter that was an issue in an earlier review. i noticed one night when admiring my speaks with the grills off that one of the woofers were rippled. brought it back and got one in perfect shape. anyway i e-mailed the fellow who previously stated the woofers "distort over time". turns out to be he had the same problem...a rippled woofer. we cleared it up and he stated it was something he never really noticed thus theorizing it was a time issue. i was set at ease after that and just wanted to say how great these speaks are sounding as the days go on. no mistakes in buying these and forget about the rumors of klipsch being bright. treble control could always take care of that if needed. i a/b tested another brand of speaks(b.acoustics) that were way brighter, even with the receivers(denon avr4800) treble control all the way down(-12), they were still brighter than the klipsch set at flat treble.

Strength:

Beautiful soundstage, excellent imaging, clarity

Weakness:

Perhaps(?) not quite enough bass

I bought these speakers about a month ago. When testing out speakers in the showroom, I couldn't believe the clarity and the crispness of the Klipsch sound. I had previously had vintage speakers that had much more of a warm, muddy sound that emphasized the mids and lows. But I thought the Klipsch sounded great and it was time for a change.

I got them home, and when I set them up in my place, the sound was a bit shrill and harsh. I was a little concerned, but thankfully there was a bit of a break-in period. The longer things go, the warmer the sound. I highly recommend - a great speaker at a reasonable price.

Look good with/without gril, The strenght they have are unbelivable. It sound just good with everykind of music

Weakness:

gril seem a little fragile ... bla

I got a cheap technic 1040 receiver ( 5x100 watt). The first time i plugged them i was like : ok the amp is cheap but it should sound good & loud enough... WHOA !! at 50 % its damn loud . The max ive did was about 65 % and my ear were bleeding eheheh ;)
My room is pretty small tho but even then it 'move air' .
I mostly listen to deathmetal and it sound just fine . Better then the paradigm studio series. I also like to listen to other kind of music and they just sound fine with everything .

All i can say is for +800- $ you cant get something better for front speakers .

Strength:

The crispness and clarity produced no matter the level.

Weakness:

none yet

I have KG-2's that go back to my first hifi purchase in 1986. The KG-2's fantasntic performance over 16 years sold me on Klipsch forever.

I went te get a new AVR and maybe a new set of speakers. I was demo'd the Refernce Series to show me what was available, and I was blown away. I went home to do a little due diligence research. I returned to and bought the entire set-up. I really cannot say enough. Go get it.

I drive the system with a Denon AVR 3801 and compliment the complete Klipsch Reference Series with a M&K V75 Mark II.
